Aerogarden Harvest!

Well I have her hanging upside down as I write....Pics Below....

I picked her the other day and about a week before I bought 2 more 30 W Daylight CFLs, It helped a little bit, just wish I had them sooner...

Anyways the yields werent as big as I thought for that big 4 foot bean pole I probobly totaled around 10 grams dry....

The buds look real nice and smell good and its a pretty nice high....

It came from bag seed so I am happy with the results....I have some Misty on the way from Nirvana....I cant wait to get that in there and try again...

This next time is going to be way better! Due to all of the knowledge I've aquired and I can't wait....

I've got some good ideas for the next grow in the aerogarden as well...

So some stats for the Big plant and entire grow....

Veg time: 35 days
Flowering time: 70 days
Total: 105 days
Height :Aprox 48"
Total yield dry: Aprox 10 grams

Next time I'm going to start with the lights very close to the base (growing surface) Because initially I bieleve the lighting hood starts off too high above the plants causeing unnessessary stretching and weak stems...

Keeping the lights as close as possible I'm going to shorten the Veg time to 2 weeks...This will all keep the plants as small as possible.....

I might also incorporate topping or pinching the growth point to allow for fuller growth at the nodes...

Now that I've got some real nice extra lights this will also help during the stages of growth to increase yield....

Well Thats all that I can think of....I'll let you know once its fully dried...

Very Nice. I just started an aero garden grow this past weekend. What tips can you give me to make things grow well ( this is also my first ever grow).

Read through every Aerogarden related page on this forum....

It has every thing and more.... I know there is a lot of stuff....

10 grams that sounds like a real bummer...

what light were they flowering under? cfls?

Forgive me I dont mean to be rude but 10 grams from 1 plant? isnt that a little low? or is it because you only veg for a month? isnt an expected yield to be around a ounce or two?

Your right it is a small yield and it is probobly somewhat due to the short veg period....yet I am not deterred by this because I know that next time I can increase the yield....

This is my first grow and was done under stealth conditions....

Ive got better lights now, better ideas, and way better seeds

I just recieved some Misty seeds from Nirvana yesterday....

I cant wait to get them goin...

Congrats on the harvest bro! Is about what you expected and predicted ... I mean with only 2 x 24w CFL lights, you cannot expect to get the yeilds that you would get if you were using HID lights.

Can't wait to see how the Misty turns out now that you have some additional side lighting!

If you get a 125 or 200 cfl and reflector for around 100.00 to 150.00 .you will get a oz .Get a 150 watt hps with the blue spec and the cfl you will get more from each plant.more light the better the grow.ITs good you see what you got and what you will get with more light.Good job on the grow,the frsit grow is alway a great high,you get to smoke your work.Next week I'am starting my cab build.Ill post pixs of the build and the design with all the goods works. Well done its still something not alot but something....better luck next time...

I just picked a tiny bud (well theyre all tiny, lol) from whats hangin....Its only been 4 days of hang drying...still somewhat moist...How long should it take to hang dry?

But it was a very nice smoke, very heady...head high

I'm so happy! haha wish it was more but that's probobly a common thought amongst growers after every harvest, lol...

It was the first smoke of the day so I got the full effect...

Heres my scale...
1-10 10 being the best

Appearence: 7
Smell: 6
Taste: 6
High: 7
Overall: 6.5

should take about a week to 10 days for it to fully dry, and for this i recomend curing.

Yea, once you actually get it fuly dried and cured right, it should hopefully bump up a few points

There's nothing like smoking buds YOU grew. i cant wait to see that feeling. for the lighting you had i guess it's a good yield. im glad i switched from cfl's to an HPS for flowering, hopefully my yield is very good. good luck on your misty!

That's mad funny cause I was thinking bout that a minute ago. Did you get the results that you was looking for? How long did it take?
You can switch the AreoGardens lights to whatever CFL you please right? Let me know I want to know a bit more about it.

Personal grow ten grams dry. Well Its is what it is. It looked like around 90 US dollars in power, about right? And all the while you have learned more than an public school ever taught in biology and chemistry and hell plants in general.
