Oh and there is LOTS more!

Hear this, you can legally get a medical card to grow and posses, but not to trade, buy, sell, etc. Sooo You have to magically obtain it from the pot fairy in order to be legal.

You cant legally pass a joint between two card holders...

THE LETTER FROM THE REGISTRY stated:

To receive a copy of the Alaska Statutes regarding Medical Use of Marijuana (Title 07, Chapter 37) contact your local library; or look up the statues on the internet through the state legislature's home page: www.legis.state.ak.us.

I personally know six people in the state with cards. I am sure they would like their locations kept private as well.

I will explain the visit to the doctor.

I believe I did what most should. Before I challenged a doctor to consider me as a person who would benefit from the use of marijuana (what the law requires), I realized what the doctor was up against. The same Government that I am. With that I came to the conclusion that I was best equipped with the truth about how cannabis effects the body, as is he. I researched my condition thoroughly first. I learned the meanings of medical terms associated with my condition to better understand my particular situation with each disability and disorder. In the medical journals published and available online I learned the processes of each symptom. I learned how the effects of cannabis on my body could intervene with the process of particular symptoms and understood why marijuana was helping me.
Now, I will tell you. When I walk in a room you may never notice a thing wrong with me. However, on a doctors list of things wrong with me, you would be hard pressed to believe that I wouldn’t be helped.
Of that of which I have been diagnosed: Tourette syndrome, Attention deficit disorder, Scoliosis, and Brain Tumors.
I was allowed cannabis mostly due to the muscle spasms related and compounded by the two conditions Scoliosis and Tourettes. I was able to explain how THC becomes attached to receptor cells that are located between fatty tissues. The benefit that I received as a result of my brains involuntary signal to spasm, being slowed by the THC‘s screening of transmissions between receptor cells. The facts cannot be contested. Thus it can not be contested as to weather or not I would benefit from the use of marijuana. My doctor agreed.

The law says in order for you to have your card you must provide a physician statement page with a signature from a doctor, or a letter explaining that the physician has given you a bona fide exam and agrees that you "may" (another key term to point out "be watching for these") benefit from the use of Marijuana.

Alaska's Medical Marijuana Laws

Measure 8

The voter initiative, approved in 1998 by 58 percent of voters, created Alaska's medical marijuana law, which affords a legal defense to non-registered patients and those who can demonstrate adequate need to possess large quantities of medical marijuana.
Alaskan Senate Bill 94

This bill, passed in June 1999, modifies the law created by Measure 8, removing legal protections for medical marijuana patients who refuse to register with the state health department, or who possess greater amounts of marijuana than authorized by state law.
Alaska Statute Title 17, Chapter 37: "Medical Uses of Marijuana"

The current, enforced version of the law.

I remember reading in the ADN back in high school the Ravin vs AK case. I was excited that it was kind of/kind of not decrminilized and up to 25 plants? I though you were allowed up to 4oz for personal use. Legal/Not leagal 90% of alaskans smoke bud and as long as you share with your neighboors they aint gonna call anyone...trust me. I was born and raised in AK miss it so much. I miss catching the ski bus from Service High to Hill Top after school everyday, it was the best.

God I love this state!!!! By far the best mj I've ever smoked was some MTF I got down in Seward. I have lived there in the past but don't anymore. I met a guy whose sister grows MTF up in the valley and he was going to hook me up to get some clones but he was working up on the slope and he never answered my emails. I'm growing some autoflowering "MTF" but it's not even close to being the same. I just moved a couple of months ago but the place we moved to sucks so we're looking again. I know my wife will never move to AK but once you've lived there, you can never really leave. One thing I don't miss is the prices of everything and having to have everything but the most basic essentials shipped up - unless you live in or near Los Anchorage. A lot of the time during the winter in Seward you can't even drive to Soldotna, much less Anchorage, so you're stuck with what you can get at the Eagle or Three Bears.

OUTDOOR AK GROW TIP: This is SO much fun!

Most big outfitter stores, cabalas, sportsman’s warehouse etc. carry trail cams. When these first came out, they were mostly impractical for security purposes due to the flash however, things have gotten much better!

I have cameras attached to trees higher than the bears can reach. The cam's take video as well as still shots both day and night via infrared. After a photo is taken, a message is sent via satellite to my phone letting me know there has been a photo taken. I can then upload the images directly to my PC remotely. I can watch animals and how they react to various repellants, see the progress when a photo is taken, and know ahead of time who may have visited... Nice!
