white light = more lurnens per w..we find they are basically just as good and easier on the eyes..but r and b are no slouch

need more light?...lower them or add more[nice setup]

so i found a solution to my adding more light, plus keeping airflow situation.

it takes my light from about 13500 lx to 19000 lux,

so im going to try to do math here, if someone sees a flaw in this, please correct me.

Im going off the formula that LX x .014505 = umol

Pre lattice = 13500 lx
umol = 195.81
mol = 16.91
mol /hr = .704
mols needed = 16
lights on for 23 hours a day

post lattice = 19000 lux
umol 275.5
mol = 23.8
mol /hr = .991
mols needed = 16
lights on for 16 hours a day.

lights at the wall are 405 watts
Lattice cost me $20
I can keep the lights off for an additional 7 hours a day or 2555 hours a year
kw saved = 1034.75
power is .10 kw
cost saving = $103.47

20W Osram Parathom is bright as fuck, eye hurting already with the diffuser on.

Couldn't pull/twist the diffuser off so used a hacksaw which was a bother.
Going to use cutting pliers next time.

Getting time to germinate the pepper seeds.

i do not understand...how is a lattice gonna increase light intensity...diffusion?
The lattice is white vinyl, its going behind the lights to act like a reflector. The lights are currently spaced about 8 inches apart and are shining down on more white plastic, so i'd guess it kind of acts like the walls of a grow tent.

do you think its because it is rereflecting light bouncing from the white below..the light from the tubes doesn't
wrap around far enough to hit the lattice does it

yeah, i guess. truth be told, i just happen to be putting some wrapping paper away in the basement, and thought, i wonder if i put this white side down over my lights if my lux meter will read higher. It did. so then I tried to find a way to replicate that. The white side of the wrapping paper actually did a better job, however it blocked the airflow.

I have a par meter, three philips lights read around 80 umol m2 s
The four bridgelux strips I have at the same height measure 380... seriously wtf. That's horrible.

I mean, good for us, the bridgelux are cheap and output a lot of light, but wow the philps.. so poor.

I know of a guy that just bought 1 million dollars of philips to go over something like 6 or 60 hectares in his greenhouse. yikes

Back to the bridgelux, I'm thinking if 4 of them over a 2' x 4' space are reading over 350 umol, that's way too much for greens is it not? I'll find out I guess - what a good value $200CDN for that much light. I love it.

i need to fill a space that is about 30 inches by 58 inches. Will you create me a bridgelux design for this? I am going to grow squash, and cucumbers. Why you ask? I like squash...

i can't find anything on this subject at all. This is going to be a huge crap shoot. But squash does love the sun, i'd base it on tomatoes/can needs.

i was thinking 6 x 6 foot long 3500k strips (so a 2 foot and a 4 foot)
