Hi man,

I'm currently using mostly pure coconut water (with added vitamin C) on my current plants. I dilute around 8ml/l . Several sources claim that coconut water contains cytokinins which are growth regulators/stimulants for plants and that's the reason I use it. Be wary of the sodium content if you plan to use it at higher concentration. Sodium is generally bad for plants.

I can't tell you if it makes a difference because I haven't done any side by side comparison. However, I can confirm that 8ml/l won't damage your plants and is safe. I haven't grown for a while, but here are my current plants (2016-01-24) on this post ---> https://www.rollitup.org/p/12265762/

Yeah, glad to report that they are all still ok lol. Had a little growth stunting issue with a plant and I dropped the seedling pot upside down which has unrooted it. But it's all fine and growing now ! I did the supercrop/tie down thing on two of them today and they currently look terrible and broken. So I didn't take pics lol :P

Take a look at the nutrition labels on organic coconut water and aloe juice - Calcium & Magnesium!!!! and a lot of good trace elements. It's a great foliar feed. I dilute organic coconut water 1 part coconut to 2 parts H2O. to get a 1/2 gallon I then add about 3 tablespoons of fresh aloe that I scrape out and pulverize with a stick blender and strain. You gotta strain it or your sprayer will clog up pretty quickly. And finally, I add a teaspoon of silica.

I find it particularly helpful with sick, damaged and recovering plants -- gives them a little boost.

I've been using dyna grow protekt, but I'm switching my whole feedling program to Humbolt Nutes. They also produce a Si supplement. http://www.humboldtnutrients.com/blog/structural-integrity-s-i/

You can buy dried horsetail. I've haven't. Growing my own aloe is as far as I'm going.

A few additional things I've learned on foliar feeding:
  • Absolutely, make sure your fans AND lights are off when you spray AND until the plant is totally dried. This give the plant more time to absorb nutes and will help avoid burning your leaves.
  • Spray the tops and bottoms of your leaves
  • If you use any critter killing sprays, even organic (eg I use habanero pepper spray to get rid of spider mites), the plants seem to appreciate a nice refreshing coconut and aloe spritz the next day
  • And, finally, use distilled or RO water. This avoids buildup and water spots on your leaves. I used Brita filtered water once and thought I'd done something awful to the poor girls. They looked like the gross, spotted glasses in a dishwasher commercial!!!
good luck!!!

Fuck yeah. I feed either plain water, heavily watered down fresh coconut water, watered down fresh aloe in water, & water and organic blackstrap.....thats all mine get minus some fish hydroslate once in a bit.
I use a couple (2-2) large cups of coco water per 3 gallon feed buckets. With aloe I will take the meat out of a couple (2-3) larger leaves and mix that innto gallons water. Also foliar with aloe same way, but in spray bottle. I alternate coco and aloe feeds, maybe once a week each

If you can't get your hands of fresh coconut water try Harmless Harvest. It is sold at most grocery stores, I get mine an whole foods. They have some sort of process that never heats up the coconut water so it is fresh and basically unaltered. It works for me @ 2 tbls per gallon, Oh yeah, and it is usually pink. Its not a die it occurs naturally

I don't know if you have Publix supermarket in your area but they have it too. If you go to the website they might have a store locator. It is worth the hassle. Some good stuff
