i am mulching because i am adding spent and/or contaminated cubensis BRF/azomite cakes as a top dressing. I am trying to keep the mycelium alive long enough to dive into the soil and roots. Mulch seemed like the easiest solution without disturbing the plant's dry/wet cycles.

-bumped the 365nm-400nm diodes to 93w. Nice bright summer in here. I don't actually leave it with only UV. Pics are just to show what it looks like with only the UVa. The tea became illuminated.
-plants were given, fermented pepper extract, fermented fish amino, coffee, EMe/molasses
-currently top dressed with .75 pints of cubensis BRF cake each and some amount of shiitake wood spawn.
-shiitake seems to be thriving in the mulch lain spill tray better than the soil mulch

By the looks of the light on the wall, i would stand to lower the light a good 6 inches. Wont be doing this immediately, if at all. I will let the plants grow into this range a bit more.

Adding 710nm-730nm and 640nm-660nm diodes soon. Waiting on parts still.

Also purchased a large 2.5gallon sac of raw biochar. I have never purchased commercial internet biochar but will charge it and transplant these into 7 gallon air pots of charged-carbon rich soil. 3 more BRF cakes are ready to add as well and should contain a fair amount of phosphorus and nitrogen.

incoming foliar of epsom salt and fermented pepper extract, which is smelling like dog shit for some reason. The ferment has a healthy white mold on the surface but just smells like a dogs anus. not a good fermentation i guess...

cant wati till you crank them up. Im curious the lux at 18inches on full blast. I like to keep any light at 18inches or so. I want to do this setup, its just distance with photons that is a concern.

My height is pretty limited. I think I need to remove the floor ofvtge cab for the extra six inches. The plants are loving the light and the UV doesn't seem to be adverse in effect. The leaves are very thick. Like a pepper plant grown in direct sun vs part sun. I'm debating mainline this week or just clone/flower and get on to the autos. I still need the reds to arrive in the mail so I know I won't flower until then. Save yourself the hassle and get a large slate heatsink from hlg instead of custom cutting u channel. The strips are 17"×2". Well, more like 16.7"×1.75". Twenty strips would be amazing. Ill measure my distance later when I visit. I think I'm around twelve inches away but yea, like you said, on the weakest setting.

Here is my idea, it will have the strips on 1/8 in alum and then another mesh alum sheet 1 inch gap off light sheet for the drivers, then 16- 5W 730 diodes, Done. should be a badass light for a 4x3. covers the area but 6 inches on each edge. 5,800 lumens pstf.

24x36iinch, each light will be touching side to side, so it will be interesting of the 2 so close, then gap, then 2.

they will be offset for 16 wide, and 4 on the top and bottom going other way.
$350 probably around total cost

$210 just for the strips, with drivers, i think is pretty good deal alone.

Youd need 8 cobs to get these lumens, with 800 watts.

cant wait

Ooobaby that looks nice. I bet having strips back to back will really dense up your buds! Where are you looking for 1/8" Al sheet? I would love to build another panel. I may dismantle my old magnum 357 panel for the heatsink and add side lighting or a veg panel.. These strips are a blessing.

Ill be gettting the 1/8 from Lowes for $19 a 24x36in sheet, the mesh one is $29 i think it was tho, seen someone here use it, and it looked prettty usefull, especially for air flow. Would of really wanted to put all the drivers on the outside of the grow box, like a command center. So, its just hook up in the grow box, and the 1 plug into the entire unit.

I have some time, so maybe in the next few weeks, I current ly doing a test on my 125 watts modded mars300 i want to run till completion in a 2x2, so i have time to build light and box till then, looking at 9 weeks or so. So going to take thinking time, lol, think 40 times, build once, lol..

Its should be a badass light tho for sure.

Your thread here and the other one, helped tremendously.

Oh, and one of these drivers could actually run a COB? with 48 volts? Just the drivers being slim are worth the $10 each, lol.
