Any cheap quiet way to increase low humidity? Stealth grow

32x32x64" grow tent. Stealth grow. Week old Bubble Kush autoflower sprouts . Anyone with a similar small grow tent able to raise their humidity by spending around $30? There are many small personal humidifiers out there. When reading the negative reviews (which I trust more than positive reviews), I find most small personal humidifiers don't put out much mist. This is probably because a lot of humidifiers are also used for oil scents, in which case, they're designed not to put out much more than a puff of mist. Other negative reviews on Amazon say theirs makes a gurgling sound and are not that silent.

Setting shallow dishes of water isn't doing the trick. Humidity on my autogrow sprouts is about 22% (wintertime, dry air, etc). They're doing fine so far, but I'd like to quietly and cheaply raise the humidity. I've blocked off the HVAC wall vent to the room and have a sliding window opened to let in air. Thing is, lately it's been 25% humidity outside, which is unusual for So. California during the winter. La Nina weather pattern is why! If we were in an El Nino weather pattern here, it would be rainy more often and the average humidity would be 45-55% at this time of year. (La Nina weather pattern is why there are wintertime fires raging in So. Calif.)

Anyways....not gonna happen without spending more and hearing more noise? Is it that crucial to have better than 22% humidity? I mist the top soil in the Solo cups they're sprouting from. Tent temps with a 1000w LED 30" away and 6 CFL sprial bulbs (6500K) that hang close to my sprouts reach around 79F. That's good when it gets cold in the morning (to have the lights running). I just wish I could raise the humidity significantly, quietly and cheaply. Any suggestions as to an effective small, quiet and cheap humidifier? Try and keep in mind this is a Stealth grow when replying.

PS. I posted here rather than in the Stealth Grow forum. That forum just not getting that many views.

I use an ultrasonic mister / cold humidifier and it works great and is silent. I’m able to raise humidity in my 2 car garage by 30% in about an hour with a $30 amazon special. I would be worried about too much humidity if I actually put it inside a tent.

Get a bath towel damp and put it on the floor in the tent. Works like a charm and very quiet and cheap! If one doesn’t do it, use 2.
Thanks. I researched the passive approaches. The towel method. My 3 shallow pans filled with water will do about the same. 4% increase.

I just wanted a confirmation that there are a lot of small inexpensive humidifiers that are bunk.

I may just grow this Bubble Kush autofllower under low humidity conditions. So there!

I use a humidifier in my cab which I got from eBay, the only downside is the power led which is bright af. I opened it up and disconnected it, as for the mist it is really controllable and is a constant flow not random puffs. It runs for 14hr on max setting with a full tank.

After watching a Youtube video, I'm gonna try that way. A bottle top mist/humidifier ($10) to use with a digital humidity controller ($29) in my small tent. The usb cable power cord from the bottle top mister goes into a universal usb wall socket charger and into the humidity controller, all of which sits outside the tent. The only thing inside the tent besides the mister is the humidity controller wired probe. A taller plastic drinking bottle can be used to extend time between fillups (comes with too short a stem). The hack is to just roll up some paper towel and insert it into the uptake tube to create a wicking effect.

EDIT: I ditched this method bottle cap system after trying out the bottle cap mister. The YouTube video I mentioned getting the idea from showed his bottle cap mister putting out 5 times the mist. To all thinking of buying a humidifier: Amazon has a Plemo $39 humidifier with remote control and other nice features. If you go to Plemo's home site, there's a coupon code there good until Jan.1 2018 that will allow you to buy this $39 humidifier on Amazon for only $14 !!!!! I could hardly believe that. With Amazon Prime I'll be receiving it with free shipping and 2-day delivery. The only downer is it won't work with my digital humidity controller, which I had purchased to use with the $9 USB type bottle cap mister setup.

Hey grassy007, after looking on amazon and doing internet searches was unable to find the website of Plemo or the coupon to get the humidifier for the $14 price.

Sorry about that. I looked thru my net History trying to find that site that had that discount. The only one I could find was the promo code ACAONSIG to get it for $26. I couldn't find my history of the site that had it for $14. The company is iplemo, not plemo.
I went to their official site but didn't see any discount codes there. I wish I could have helped more. P.S. I think that discount code I got was from some iPlemo salesman whose page I just happened upon. I wish I had copied and saved the code for all.

I just added a humidifier to my small auto grow.
only brings my humidity up to 40% but from the usual 15-20% its noticeable

veg growth from sprout to 2 weeks so far is way ahead of previous grows.
defiantly worth it.

I use blocks of wood to adjust my plant height to keep a even canopy.
I have this idea on turning the blocks of wood into little humidifiers.

I have my pots sitting in run off pans. but its a pain in the ass to drain the excess run off water
so I am going to go cut me some cedar blocks with my chainsaw.
bore a 2" round hole about 6-8" deep (not going all the way threw) into the face witch the pot and run off pan will sit
then drill and hole in the run off pan so it drains into the hole in the cedar block.

IN Theory

the cedar blocks should stay moist to help raise humidity.
the moisture gets replenished each watering
cedar is naturally impervious to mold, mil-dew, and rot
also bugs hate it

the beautiful smell of cedar could also help with odor control

just the theory

Hi Bookush,
I'm looking for ways to increase humidity in my tent and came across your posting and was so curious if you ended up trying this cedar block method and if so, did it work?
