Any help on an odd shaped res?

I'm looking for a res container for blumats* but the dimensions need to be something along the lines of 18"x18"x36" and ofc sealed with one small top access hole. Any ideas?.

The only thought I've had is to buy a long thin rain collector, seal the lid and turn it on it's side. Would have to cut a new access hole but maybe it's the best one could hope for?.

You could do the shape in OSB or plywood, drop a plastic building liner inside and run your fitting through the side, so it is like a bag in a box.

Yeah that does sound doable, should be easy enough to light seal too.

Maybe you can help with something else. They recommend blumat res 2 or 3 foot above pot height. I've ran a diy gravity type system in the past and it was only around 6-12 inches above pots but worked fine. I'm guessing the capillary action of the blumats requires the extra height/pressure or will I be able to get away with a lesser height?. If the res is big enough surely the water pressure will be ample for 6 to 8 blumat heads with a 2.5m max line?. Or maybe a split res would be required to reduce head pressure needs on a single res?.

I've never used Blumats, I'd be broke if had to buy 100 to do a run.

I prefer a hard PVC ring on the floor of the trays with simple flexible tubes T-ed into the TOP of the ring. Equal length tubes run up and into the pots with nothing that can get blocked. Being on top, air leaves first and all pots can get equal water as the water needs to rise in the tubes before exiting.

Sorry I missed this post. The Size I am looking for is roughly 18/W 18/H 46/L, should have specified that. I also should have mentioned US company's for this particular venture will be off limits. I don't dare check what the charge would be for a bulky item ;p.

I gave up on trying to find an ideal sized reservoir and made my own out of acrylic. It's easy when you don't care about how it looks. It's not cheap but neither is spending untold hours scouring the net for the perfect reservoir. You can make it the exact size you need...

I'll keep that in mind, need to test the available height first or else new space will have to be made to accommodate a res. If that's the case I won't need such an odd shaped res.

Do you have pics of this setup?. I figure it's on a pump timer or do you use it to some what auto feed all pots from one manual input?.

I water manually by dipping each plant in a container with fertilizer then putting it on a drip rack.

let me give u a heads up ........unless your ordering raw chemicals and ones that can be turned into something nasty u have no fear about ordering from places that ship to your home

the big deal about getting this kind of stuff is from instate stores ( md hydro had this rep that the cops would watch the store copy the plates off any car that got anything and then raid the ppls trash looking for some sign of a grow op allowing them to get a warrent to raid the house and bust u )

u can order what ever u want online and have it sent to where ever.......the trick is to make sure u recycle all the dead parts of the plant into compost or soil and once a month u trash your empty feed bottles in a major apartment buildings trash/ fast food trash the night before pick up

I meant the shipping costs, I could not justify it for a plastic container.
