Hey riu, I was just wondering if anyone elce on here has ulcerative colitis. I've been diagnosed for a little over a year now specificaly with pancolitis meaning its my entire colon but not intestine like with chrones. I think I've come across a discovery that could really help some people in a simular situation and though this would be the most beneficial first contribution as a long time lurker. So here we go, I noticed my aprizo (mezalamine meds) were the extended release and weren't disolving in my stool completly. Google told me my bodys Ph had to be at 6 to disolve the acidic pills. I bolted for my trusty blue lab and emediatly pee'd in that cup faster then 15yr old me at the probation center . To my amazement it was 5.4! The local health food store had ph up pills and litmus paper for my saliva. I again relied on google to find a list of "alkaline forming foods" and was shocked to find out lemons and limes metabolize into alkaline when digested and hemp seems to be the alkaline king ..my medicine disolves now and I can tell exactly when because I ph my urin every go. Its a full time battle to keep my ph up but I feel great when I do. That reminds me I gota go get that 400w juicer crankn..ph is just as important for humans who woulda thunk it. Ill the color coded food list I've been living by if anyone's interested. My meds worked and flare is gone, 1 asprin sent me into a wicked one. Acidosis is a reall disorder I'd love to see what other ph concious people have to say, criticisim or not
