Anyone Ever Grow Automatic Jack

I bought some seeds for mothers and tried a couple autos with it while they grew up. My PE is drying and after 2.5 months the jack still hasnt started flowering. I switched to 12 hour light and it is starting to show signs. Anyone else have problems with jack before. I also wondering if going back to 18 hour light will put it back in veg. Im growing in soil under 1000 watt HPS. Im in a closet so temp is usually around 82 and no less than 70 at night unless on 12/12 which i get as low as 66. The plant shows no sign of stress or malnutritin and is growing nicely just disappointed its not a week away from harvest

was it auto jack from femalesseedsnl? Cause if it is I actually just gave one of their fem jack autos to my brother to finish. I looked at the advert on the seedbank site and it said for optimum results maintain a 12/12 light cycle during flowering which is total bullshit - all the other autos I've grown will flourish under a 23.5/.5 cycle hence the autoflower name. Some greedy breeder really screwed the pooch on this one. Hopefully my bro gets her to shine but there was no way I was about to re-organize my entire garden's light cycle to accomodate one cheap seed I picked up (without closely reading the description)

Yeah that's a BS auto, shouldn't be labeled as such if it won't flower under ANY light cycle. If you can create a cab or dark room for it do it, if not do not sacrifice your timing on the rest of your crop for one plant. 12/12 on a true auto will not give you max yield.

well good thing is it is only one plant so finding a dark spot for 12 hours a day is no problem its just remembering to do it all the time lol and your right it should not be labeled an auto. Lesson learned.

If it needs 12-12 to flower then its not an auto, period.

There is almost no point in running an auto at 12-12. If you plan on running 12-12 (regardless of whether the plant needs it), then you might as well just go with a proven photoperiod strain instead. That way you can at least clone the plant or maintain it in vegetative state if you need to.

Also note that many photoperiod strains will still flower at 15-9 lighting, so even with a "regular" strain you may be able to cram in a few extra hours of light per flowering day if you wanted to.
