Anyone have a problem with acid reflux after eating butter ?

    I don't smoke or vaporize so i'm pretty much stuck with eating. Sometimes i make butter or just do one dose at a time on a hob.
    I keep getting wicked bad acid reflux. It's getting to the point that i'm worried about contracting cancer from my tubes being scorched.
    I had a few weeks off when i ran out and it went away but came back straight away when i started again. So i'm stuck now, i don't know what to do.

    Maybe try a different medium then butter. Coconut oil, Alchohol <--- this probably won't help, Vegetable Glycerin.

    All you really need is some kind of fat/ alcohol based substance. Not sure why the butter would cause Acid. What are you eating your edibles with. What is your usual process?

    It better not! I cant smoke now because of Gastritis/GERD so if this does cause Acid reflux I'm screwed!

    Usually i just heat butter in a cup, straight on a hob. Then mix it with a bit of milk and knock it back. I think it might be the butter more than the weed. I tried mixing it into oats so no butter floats and that was better last night but i can't stand the taste.

    I would try coconut oil. The flavor is better then butter IMO. The problem is the oil. No matter how you try to drink it it is still oil. If you try baking with it that may help. Maybe even spread the butter onto toast or something to help with digestion.

    Nasty the way you eat your butter bahsnsbdnx. Ralph. At least make some food that uses butter. Make some cookies w no chocolate. Or some pot popcorn. Or make some type of dessert bread that uses butter. Anything besides just drinking straight w some milk. That would give me acid reflux too. I get it bad btw. And why don't you make quick wash oil from everclear. No butter medium to digest and you get straigt oil. Can eat straight or mix with any food. Make sure you de carb your bud before stripping it with the alcohol.

    And just in general for acid reflux... Cause it's my biggest problem. Drink water all day everyday and squeeze a bit of lemon juice in each cup. It really helps with acid reflux and just so good for you. Makes you energized as well.

    There's no everclear here. It's much better with oats. I make it so it's thick with no butter pooling. I just don't like the taste.

    It was affecting my whole digestion. My poo has firmed up and is much darker than it was. You could press on my guts and they felt sore.
    I slept for 13 hours last night, i feel like i'm catching up.

    I was eating 2g of weed in butter 2-3 times a day. Just one 2g dose blows me away now.

    Just made butter for first time in a while and had a bad high because of the acid reflux/gerd /gastritis I think. Was having some frozen chicken lettuce rolls I made and had like 6 between 2-345ish. Ate 1 cc cookie with butter around 430 and by 530 pressure was building so I had to get up and walk around. Then full body muscle spasms so I downed some hot oatmeal and seemed to calm down. Then I popped a zantac and it came back like 10mins later? Is it trapping the burps? Second time I felt pressure then burning like higher up in chest in middle of nipples plus esophagus spasms. Weird! Even looking down to type aggravates too.

    Start eating plain grilled chicken and white rice for dinner. Oatmeal for breakfast and lots of bland foods. Especially if you plan to eat pot butter. And eat it with something that will absorb the butter your eating. Like bread or crackers.You will have a much more calm stomach.

    Yeah same thing. Small amounts of gas build up like a fermentation lock. Every time a bit escapes it pulls acid through with it. Man it hurts, so intense that your mouth waters.
    I think the butter coats your stomach and that sets it off. Once you're inflamed you stop absorbing nutrients (and THC) properly.

    I managed to get around the taste by making a oat/weed mixture in the bottom of a cup. When it's set i add more milk to break it up then drink it down. So far so good.

    Ranitidine helps me sleep if i'm suffering. Omeprazole didn't help me much surprisingly.

    I heat the weed with a bit of butter before adding the oats and milk. I do the whole thing in the microwave. It's convenient if you just want a quick single dose.

    Man I just made Cana capsules and im having the same thing. Made with coconut butter. Even eating kne gave me heart ur

    Took nexium at 6pm. 630pm Ate a whole wheat piece of bread with cannabutter. 7pm Ate a simple spinach kale pasta and a little mango for dinner.

    7 30 pm started feeling the butter come on but with pressure right beneath sternum with light headed, flutters up chest, dull esophagus pressure, dull sensation in upper left part of chest, and wanting to focus on my breathing to slow my anxiety . so stood up and gingerly walk around because fast movements more pressure.

    745pm. Ate some oatmeal thinking it would help

    8 pm huuuge burp with food coming all the way back up and some dull acid. Felt better like everything released so I started looking down to the computer to type.

    805pm. Another episode same everything. 815pm another burp releases everything

    830pm sat down and felt more pressure and chest flutters so i went back to standing. Still burping and can taste the butter. Some bloating and gas in lower left area of stomach.

    Shit that sucks guys. Have you tried making a super concentrated tincture or anything like that? Maybe it is oil/ fat that is fighting?

    It's weird because I ate a salad for dinner last night and had some bread which I buttered (non-cannabutter) to eat with it and had no problems. Maybe because I only ate the bread with cannabutter the night before by itself??

    With gastritis, you can't drink alcohol, especially high proof stuff. When I first started experience stuff, I was sipping on some whiskey and started having some pain in the sternum area not knowing what was going on but now I do. It's weird because I can drink a couple beers and be fine...

    I'm thinking that it might be marijuana in general causing this? I also get a dull feeling in the center of my chest after I smoke. More intense with a bubbler or vape, but a little less with a bong with a chiller and percolators. I really hope not, because I've been smoking for 5+ years consistently and never had these problems before.

    I wish I had some better answers for you. I get heart burn but usually Zantec takes care of it. I do get the feeling of heartburn when I eat the coconut oil capsules. Not really with anything else.

    I also don't like the flavor of Vegetable Glycerin. There are a few recipes out there for making Glycerin Tincture but I can't say for sure that it'll do you any better.

    I switched to coconut oil, using the same microwave/oat tek. It's better than regular butter i think. Like ThaMagnificent mentioned, i could taste butter in my burps long after i ate it, i don't have the same problem with coconut oil. It tastes better as well. My milk/weed drink isn't bad at all.
