Anyone heard of Fluence Spydr i2 LED???

So, I have a friend who is going to sell me this light from his massive grow inventory that he's clearing out. For dirt cheap I might add...

I'm wondering if this will pair well with my 4x4x7ft tent. He has the dimmer pigtail for it and I already have a potentiometer, so immediate dimming won't be a problem. He had it hard wired into a junction box, running 220v, so its an open end power wire from the driver - but I will be adding a 110v plug to it obviously. It has a smart detection system to know what power is being supplied.

The dimensions for the light are:
32.50"x42.80"x1.26" at 12.5 lbs

...and the driver can be left on or easily removed, to mount outside of the tent. A great feature IMO, since I tend to do that anyhow haha.

So, in my opinion this is PERFECT for my 48"x48" tent! My only real question here is are these lights worth what they sell them for and can I expect good results with this? I just don't want to buy some outdated technology, that isn't going to be enough for me lol. I also worry about their drivers, as they seem to fail on the regular. So much so, that I've already priced a Meanwell 600w for $200. I also noticed they don't have any IR/UV supplementation, but I can always buy a couple of bars to mount to it eventually.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

If the price is as good as you say my opinion is hop on that deal!

That’s a good light and a good fit for your grow area.

If its dirt cheap Hell yes buy it that light anywhere from 500 to 1000 normally.

I have seen lots of bad drivers with fluence. But also have seen some nice buds you never no.They dont stand apart from any other Quilty built led bar light. But seems like a good deal if its not to old. Are you sure your getting a i2 because the size of a i2 is 42x47.

It's an i2. They actually come in 47", 40", and 33". This one is a 33". He said it has the vented drivers, that he did indeed have trouble with them, but that Fluence replaced all of them with the better model. I have no idea, I'm literally telling you what he's telling me lol. I find it crazy that they don't use IR UV supplemental lighting and are achieving those kind if results....

Edit: is is indeed the 47" thankfully. I'm not sure why I had it in my head that it was the smaller one. This is definitely going to be a tight fit, I don't even think I'll need the 630W CMH, but I'll keep it for backup

Im going to grab it, the price is just too good. It's 100x's better than my setup now. And I still have the dual 315w CMH as well

That unit advertises at 522 watts, in 16 sq ft that come to a touch over 32 watts per Sq ft., which is certainly in the ballpark (30-40), but you're right, it could be a bit lacking in the corners. That said, it really will do fine, they say the sweet spot for LED's and cannabis is 32 watts per square foot.

I run (2) Spydr 2i fixtures (42” x 47”) in a 4’ x 8’ tent. They do really well and plants love them. The smaller fixture will do a 4x4 just fine at max output. For the price, it’s a steal.

Don’t sweat the lack of UV/FR/IR as the plants grow dank weed just fine without, and most growers wouldn’t notice the difference anyways.

They had one of the broadest spectrums for a commercial light when their fixtures first came out a number of years ago, and were one of the first to supplement 660nm diodes on a commercial fixture.

There are probably better/cheaper options nowadays, but I’m a pretty big fan of their lights.

Whelp, come to find out I had it wrong anyways, it's the full sized fixture 47"x43" (which is even better IMO). Thanks for the feedback, that gives me high hopes.

Yea I understand and honestly he didn't say. I would certainly say it's better than the 2 QB's I'm using now. I have my 3k 630w CMH rigged up in my tent too and it doesn't even get hot to the touch, with the glass in the fixture and the duct fan pulling through. I thought maybe I could run that up high, while having the LED bars beneath, penetrating that entire canopy. I guess we'll see...
