Chronikool uses all sorts of flood lights, 50w etc. Check out his threads.
They seem to work great.

I've recently ordered a few LED 30w warm white floods to replace my metal halide..

BTW, you can get them for around $50.. for a 50watt warm white/cool white.. depending on the vendor. Aliexpress has pretty good prices.

are you looking for more specific light wavelengths?

Been a few threads recently about led floodlights and similar, sry I can't think what they were actually called :s

but yeah 100 dollars is wayyy much for a flood. you could get a chinese grow panel for that.

My local Home Depot has 50W 4500-5500K LED work lights, that look identical to any of those. I can't recall what it sold for, I thought it was $70-80. I'll have to double check.

i was wondering i did search for threads just dont think i worded it right i wondered this the first time i saw them in a football feild thought then .... i wonder if they have that in 2500k lol
i found a site that you can order different color spectrums which would be nice if it checks out i would want to go with a 3 color foot print and just start adding them on to my cfl's and just use the 68 watts for side lighting

color temps 2700/3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K ... yes please.

Edit: I just saw the cxa3050 has a max output of 100W too, same color combos... makes me want to change my mind about not DIY'ing some LEDs

It's not out of control, and most of it goes to the heat sink so it isn't beamed into your plant canopy. The driver puts off a good amount of heat, though, so plan on keeping that somewhat remote if you're worried about it. It's sort of relative, it depends on how big the grow space is and what ambient temps already are. You could also make a box to place all your drivers inside and then just vent that outside, or something.

it would be cool, to instead of having big vented hps lighting, or tons wide led panels, you can just have one of those high watt led diodes in the middle of the room lighting everything
