Anyone try growing in one of those Tall Outdoor Storage Sheds?

I am thinking about buying one of those tall/slim outdoor storage sheds to grow a plant or two (most likely 1 plant though). The inside dimensions are about 2ft x 1.5ft and the height is like 5ft or 6ft. Has anyone successfully grown in one of these sheds?

Also, it will be outdoors in the California sun, how much fan power do you think I'll need in order to keep the internal temperature of the shed about right for the plant?

I know I'm going to need fans to cool it off and definitely going to need a carbon filter because I would put the shed along my fence. Would 1 carbon filter be good enough to get rid of most of the smell with just one plant (maybe Granddaddy Purple or something thats a heavy indica).

Any help you guys can give me would be great. And links to grow journals or grow setups inside a shed like the one I described would be great so I can try and get a feel for the layout.

Please hear me out, I am not trying to be offensive here, but the very first thing that pops up in my head, have you done any research at all about the temperatures that your plant needs in order to grow? A typical Grow Room keeps their temps in the mid 70's, and will use an AC unit to make that happen. Then you have to have a fan to move air around inside the shed, you want to keep you nutrient solution (hydroponics) or soil temps cooler, you need lighting and depending on the type of lighting it will make heat. You need a carbon filter and a fan set up to purify your air, and perhaps a muffler to quiet down your fan as well, depending on your setup. Not to mention you have to shield your walls with something to protect you from any random IR Scans, and to help you be able to control your temps inside your shed.

All in all you'd be best to grow more than one plant given the expense of setting everything up, I mean lets think cost effective here. Depending on your light again you will lose 12-inches from the top of your plant to your light, so if you grow in a 6-feet tall shed, your plant shouldn't grow taller than 5-feet. Which leads to the question of if you plant to have a mother-plant so you can clone it, and then you need to worry about having a separate light are for when the clones go into bloom, you can keep the mother in a veg state.

To be bluntly honest I think you'd do much better in just making yourself a grow cabinet (inside) and sitting down and spend a good deal of time reading up and studying what you are planning on doing... because otherwise you will just be throwing a lot of money away. I personally would encourage you to invest in a good quality Gorilla Grow Tent, not a cheap tent because like a pre-made grow cabinet you'll end up with problems which will lead to more problems and more money spent fixing those problems... Better to just do it right the first time and nobody will ever know what you're doing, and you'll end up the happiest in the end for it.
Its all good, no offense taken. But I actually have a full spreadsheet with my budget and links to everything I am planning to buy. Last night (after I posted the question) I went into AutoCAD and basically planned out the entire setup. The only thing I'm not quite sure about is whether or not I'm going to need and/or be able to buy a mini AC for the shed. I would totally use a grow tent or a cabinet of sorts... but I live with my aunt and uncle in a 2 bedroom house so theres not that much room and they don't want it inside the house. The spot where the shed would go is predominantly in the shade for all but about maybe a few hours a day, well except the top of the shed. My uncle has a shed just like the one I would buy (its full of tools so I can't steal his) so I'm thinking about putting a thermometer in it and checking it every hour or so to see what the temperature would be without any fans and then I'll go from there. The target temperature I think is between 70-80 degrees, preferably in the lower part of that range (I'm thinking a Grandaddy Purple clone from a local dispensary at the moment). As for lights, I'm thinking LED's simply because the energy usage is a lot less and the heat production is very minimal... but idk how many watts I'm gunna need or which lights I'd like to get quite yet. If you have any opinions/info on LED's I'd love to hear it. I was thinking about a grow tent, I was originally going to grow in my apartment's closet with a grow tent but then I had to move. And they don't make ones that are tall enough that fit the dimensions of the shed. I think they are usually about 2x2x4 or something along those lines and taking into account the height of the pot and the distance for the lights the plant would only be able to be about like 2ft tall and there really isn't enough room to tie it down or anything.

Also, what kind of carbon filter do you think would be good for a cheap amount, at this point I have a $50 off of amazon on my spreadsheet. I'm thinking of cutting a 4" hole in the shed and having a fan for the intake on the bottom of the shed in the back where it meets the fence because that area is almost always in the shade and I figured it would bring in cooler air and then putting another one connected to the carbon filter for the output and having it go out the top so that the hotter air on top is blown out.

I am considering 2 plants (probably the maximum I'd be able to fit in the shed, I think I'll draw it up on AutoCAD tonight to see if everything would fit okay. But that would mean I would need more wattage for my lights and higher watt LED's can get pretty expensive. Based on the minimal research I did last night I would probably buy a 90W light for 1 plant and I'm thinking a 150W LED set for two plants. Does that sound about right or would I need less/more. This is all advertised wattage too so obviously they won't work at that amount. I think I saw a chart that said I'd need like 25-50 watts per square foot and the shed is only about 3.5 square feet so accounting for the actual wattage I think I'm in the ballpark. But please do tell me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the response/advice and I think you convinced me to grow two plants, I was only going to do 1 plant as a test, but I think you're right that if I'm going to spend the $400+ on the whole setup I might as well get my money's worth.

Lastly, if you could recommend a mini AC for the shed, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Im with this guy ^^^^^^ Bad idea!!

I tried to grow in a shed up here in Washington state during the summer. Without hanging an air conditioner out of the side of it you wont be able to keep it cool enough. I wound up opening the roof during the day to let the heat out which also let the sun in! I grew two plants in there and did ok.

If it is 90 degrees outside it will be even hotter inside no matter how many fans you have! Pulling 90 degree air into it won't help either!

I grew in a shed in Florida and it was a bitch to keep cool damn near impossible to keep under 90 and I insulated and sheet rocked with a portable a/c unit..
