Anyone use a Reflector Cover?

Does anyone use a reflector cover? I have been reading on using them to decrease your overall room temperature. They are designed to work like a radiant barrier in your attic. Anyone use them? do they work?

well..... i am assuming you are talking about the hydro innovations cover.
they are made like blankets. insulating your reflector twce over. so... the heat comes out the ducting and the glass. much more heat out of the glass imo.
i cant say i reccommend buying them.
the ir blocking is supposedly bunk and can be seen.
i dont have a 25k$ flir that i can test it with but with all the money leo has, if they want to find us they can.

the only thing i am an advocate of is reflectix film... one roll at hd or lowes costs the same as one of the covers and can cover much more sq ft.

my room is getting too hot. I am running a 600 HPS intake from the attic (which is cool in the winter) and exit back out the attic 40 ft from the intake. I was thinking of putting a carbon scrubber and venting it through the hood to suck the heat out. I also thought about using a hot water heater blanket cut to fit all around the reflector hood to help with the radiant heat coming off the light. THoughts?

I am using a 6" can high output fan 440CFM pulling through the 6" Hydrofarm Radiant Reflector total length of pull is approx 7' through insulated 6" duct. The room is 5' x 7' x8'. Also using a chiller on the reservoir to keep it around 70-72. The room will get up to 90-95.

the chiller is more than likely your issue.
that puts off a ton of heat.
and i say some more cfm maybe from another cooler source, non attic.
what size chiller?
using any a/c in the room?
are you using c02?

The chiller is putting out some heat but as of last night I took the carbon scrubber and vented it into the hood vent. I am not sure what siz chiller it is. I bought it used on craigslist. it isnt running very often. I am not using any a/c in the room but may have to when the outside temp gets up there. I am not using CO2 yet I hope to soon. The reflector is very cool to the touch. Hopefully with the carbon scrubber vented to the outside it will solve my heat issue.
