Anyone Use Growstones?

For my next grow I'll be using Growstones instead of hydroton. Has anyone used this product and what are your thoughts? http://www.growstone.com/

Well I am 1 week away from harvest with my first grow with grow stones. And I will be sticking with it from this point forward. Have never had thicker stocks and a ball of roots like with this grow. Good product IMO.

they look like mini lava rocks for a grill, lol. good to hear you like them.

Where do you find these and what do they cost? I am just curious... Thanks in advance.

The only place I found them locally was at a local nursery that carries all sorts of hydro and grow stuff. None of the local hydro shops I've found carry them. Its like $10 for the small bag with small stones. The bigger bag I think is like $20 and those stones are about 3 times the size of the smalls.




Sorry, Kinda hard to take good pics with the lights on.

My local shop gave me some sample bags of the bigger stones to play with. They look like size varies from 1/2 inch to 1 inch. Gonna drop a mom in and see how they compare to my current hydroton/Rockwool mix.

Yeah it looks interesting.. a little expensive for my taste. I don't reuse hydroton.. I don't wanna mess with all that derooting =/

i use these they work just as good as hydroton and are lighter and bigger chunks so a little easier to work with, and a little less residue to wash off.

wow i totally reuse as much of all my medium ( coco, hydroton, growstones ) as possible. Just shake the roots around in your hand. No reason to waste good medium. Unless you think dumping the old hydroton, driving to the store, carry it to the register, paying for it, loading to your car, driving it home, unloading it, prewashing, etc is easier than reusing...

exporting more money overseas, adding to landfills, draining ur wallet, wasting water,... ;D
