Anyone using a portable AC?

I just got a portable AC unit and the manual doesn't really explain much... There is a water outlet drain on the back of the unit and it doesn't say to take the plug out or not. I'm thinking I just have to take the plug out once in awhile to drain it, but i'm not sure. Does it need to be off all the time? Any help would be appreciated.

I had one in a humid climate and you had to hook a hose up to it and vent it to a drain or big bucket...

Check on the side of the unit, towards the bottom. Is there a door? that's a hopper of sorts to manually empty the water out. depending on your humidity and cubic feet of space you are cooling, removing the plug and running a hose to a nearby (and lower) drain may be a good idea. On alot of models, when that water hopper gets full, the a/c stops working and (even worse in most cases) starts to beep. Just don't run a short hose into an open bucket, or the a/c will just keep drying the same air.:peace:
