Anyway to delay or keep germed seeds

Hi,

Have a bit of a nightmare on my hands.

I have recently bought a 600w light and tent set. So I setup did a quick test and got to germing last night soaking the beans, all good.

Anyways in preparation for planting I thought I would run the light to get an idea of temps that I will be running, so I plug in and light turns on then about 30 seconds later is turns off, weird I though so I unplug and effectively reboot, light comes on then fail! it goes off again, i then spend the next hour fiddling, placing in different places, checking connections and restarting all with the same result, light goes on light goes off, contacted the supplier and they are all good with doing a return and they will re-send a new version. Not sure if its ballast or light so they requested both and will send out as soon as they get. They where good on delivery so have no reason to believe that they will not get it to me for Tuesday once I have got it off to them.

The issue is that I currently have 3 different varieties of beans germing and 7 in total which obviously cost a few quid. I need to see if I can find a method of storing the germed seeds until Tuesday so that they can get under the light at that stage, any ideas???

if i were you i would buy a $10 shop light with 2 6500k bulbs. i think that would be the best thing to do.

As has been said previously - you really don't need the HID lighting yet, pick up a couple clamp on incandescent fixtures at Wally world & screw some CFL lamps in there.
Peace

Nice one fellas, UK based so the only lamps that we have here that are $10 are called candles. lol. I have got a couple round the house mind so I am going to bang them into the tent and hope.

Cheers for the info.

Hiya mate, just go down to wilkinson, they sell £3.50 light fixtures with clamps and an array of bulbs to go in them, I reckon you'll be alright with about 40-60w for 7 seedlings for a week or two while you wait for the HID to come.
