are carbon filters and air cool reflectors needed?

hello guys, just started grow a baby plant and its in the 1week of the vegg stage. just trying to stay ahead of the game and find out as much as i can before i actually get to the next step. now, my question is about using grow tents. do i need carbon filters and cooled reflectors? im only growing one plant and the reason why im looking into the grow tent is because i have a cat and he loves the smell of weed. im scared that he'll damage the plant and himself while trying to reach it. also the light coming off my light source keeps me up at night ._. so before i go out and buy this tent, is it necessary to buy carbon filters and reflectors if im only growing one plant? i have 2 26W CFLs on it. also will the tent kill my plant if i keep it closed 24/7? the tent has vents, i assume leaving them open will vent whatever heat is trapped in it right? just lmk the whoooole process, im very interested. also is there another alternative for the carbon filter?? i know it eliminates the smell of the bud but is there a simpler method to use? one more affordable ?

It all depends on if you and more importantly your neighbours/ family/ visitors like the smell of weed!

When those flowers start coming, it will stink, a lot! When you chop it down and start drying it, it will stink even more!

A carbon filter for me is a must (I only grow two at a time, all be it two massive ones!) Not only does it do odour control, but because it sucks air out, it keeps a nice negative pressure in your tent, which helps with air circulation and apparently bugs.

Your light reflector only helps spread light around, so depends if you want to maximise yield. Soon if you are growing standard, only the top part of your plant will get good light, a reflector helps spread the light around. Put your hand a couple inches from the light, look how bright it is, now move your hand down and away from the light, look how quickly light diminishes over distance, its surprisingly quick. The more of your plant getting Max light, the more of the good shit you will get out of it!

you need a inline fan, carbon filter and maybe some ducting depending on your setup. the fan will pull air thru the filter and the charcoal will filter out most of the smell and clean smelling air will come out the other end of the fan. imo filters are a must especially in an illegal grow. air cooled hoods are only necessary if you have heat problems.

Rhino seemed to be the brand to go for when I went looking. The do different sizes, so you will need to do a quick calculation to see which one you need. Its all about the amount of air it can shift per minute, compared to the size of the grow area. You shouldn't need a big one.

There are two parts to the carbon filter, the filter itself (looks a bit like a sock on a tube) and then the fan part which does the sucking. You will also want some ducting to run the clean air out your tent. It won't smell so can go anywhere

It basically just sucks hot smelly air and kicks out clean air.

I expect you will pay around $50 for it all. You can get them on Amazon eBay etc

i use phresh filters. they work great and dont weight a million lbs. a good fan/filter combo will cost 2-300 but there are plenty of decent cheaper alternatives

You can smell mine really strongly up the road when the filter is not on!

Had a friend call me while I was on holiday to ask if I was stashing weed at my house because the whole street stank of it. Turned out my filter hadn't come on!

I'm in the UK, its not so acceptable to have a room full of shit load of weed!
