i ended up with some original GDP beans before the GDP/DVG debacle and can say the 2 females i grew & pollen chucked with ended up being real good quality, resinous as fcuk & lovely solid buds & terpines, but as far as the advertised purp coloring you may be chasing well you are better off looking at Cannaventure Raspberry Kush or Melvanetics Buckeye Purple or Norstars Big City Light ...cos from what ive seen the super purp colored GDP(as advertised) is a pretty rare pheno indeed

I would give CSI Humboldt a look. He has tons of Urkle and Mendo Purp crosses and even s1's of each. Nspecta has had those original cuts for many years and with all the bad press Ken has gotten recently (mainly from DVG) I would just avoid GDP seeds to be safe. GDP is said to be a watered down version of Urkle anyways so just go for the original shit. There's a ton of US based seed companies carrying CSI too which makes them a bit more accessible in my opinion.

But I have grown Kens Kush which was a pretty awesome plant tons of OG funk ,good taste and strength. This was probably close to ten years ago so who's to say what that stock is like now.

Who do you believe though? DVG isn't exactly the most reliable either hahaha. I do agree though, way too much politics around GDP. In saying that though, GDP's Candyland is still an all time favourite of mine! Kens Kush was dank, their Og Kush was super potent lemon and their Purple Dream was so good I used it in a fem cross which people still grow out today :)

Yeah I hear ya, I don't really care for all the drama in the game, I lost a lot of respect for DVG when he came on here airing his and Kens dirty laundry. In saying that though, I still got a pack of his grandpas breath as it's why I'm here, to find dank weed. They both have the dank and they can both keep the drama as far as I'm concerned hey haha.

Do you by any chance know if Kens Grand Og and E's Grand Og are one and the same? They have what appears to be exactly the same genetics but I can't get an answer out of DVG so I just assume they are lol

damn i wish someone who has grown out a heap of the original GDP would grow out a recent pack & give an honest report on it to bury the rumor of whether its as good as the previous versions or not?

I still have at least 5 of the original GDP strains, Candyland, Og Kush, Purp Dream, Bay 11, Bay Dream, Kens Kush and then Kens Grand Og, I will grow them out one day soon!

cool, though im very happy with my GDP cross with Mosca C99 ive got a heap of others lined up before i do a solo GDP run as well

First pack I got from them is a pack of Confidential Purps that is in some cheap plastic cellophane. I think these were bred right when all the DVG stuff was going down. I can hardly find much mention of this strain on the internet and I don't think I've ever seen them anywhere but where+when I bought them at TDT. I really don't know what to think of them and am curious if anyone out there owns or has ran this strain from them, I'd love to hear back.Second pack I bought several months later because the original GDP was in stock and I had not seen any online for sale for what seemed like years. These are what are considered the post-DVG "new version". These came in some really fancy packaging, very professional looking. There does seem to be a huge lack of reports concerning the modern version of this strain.

I'm thinking of popping them after my room finishes up in the coming weeks. I'm a bit hesitant though because i don't want a crop of "Big Bud" leaning variations(if that is indeed what its crossed with), but it could be a worthy cause to be able to report back what the deal is with these beans these days.

Just busting your balls man. Anything Ken Estes does is going to be good.. just like Bodhi, Scott reach, BOG, JAWS, BRET BOGUE (yes, Brett)
SOHUM, DJ short, etc... And don't be afraid to browse you know stuff coming out of Michigan obviously California Colorado Oregon Washington but these guys that have been holding it down for 30 years and have made a name for themselves, there's a reason for that.

Im not reliable? REALLY? You are part of the reason why I don't come on here anymore. I remember you being in every post. Can't say I remember you saying anything negative then. Why now? Have a good one. Oh guess who made the Candyland from GDP?
