The bridelux strips look great but do they. Come in kits what would I push them with (sorry totally ignorant here) ...could I use them along the sides and have another unit above the canopy

Thanks brother man!!! I'm looking Eb videos now
you could use a standard mean well driver or even an eBay driver http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-30x-3W-LED-Driver-Power-Supply-600mA-for-30pcs-3W-High-Power-LED-Chip-/371850959882?hash=item56940b5c0a (will drive 4-2ft strips) drive and you could use them a supplementary lights. they have spring clips to hold wire so no soldering require and you could mount on a simple wood frame so it would be an easy DIY project. you can find threads here on people growing with them. I'm a T5 growers but have been playing with LEDs for 3 years when I have a little extra money. as a PU MMJ grower I make no money off my grows and am far more interested in quality and effectiveness that yield. with cannabis I have been able to stop taking 3 prescription drugs for my condition and a few others that were use to treat the side effects of those meds

My grow is also strictly personal but why do you choose t5 instead of led?

LEDs do not contain UV light or much violet light. T5s gave me the same yield (per watt) but better taste and potency. I do use plant bulbs mixed with cool white so I am able to get 5% UVA and an spd that is closer to natural sunlight.all the major LED makers use multiband light with only a small number of white LEDs to better target certain pigments. they claim that plants can only use 40% of the light produced by white LEDs. but if you talk to horticulturalist or green house operators you will find that almost all of them use florescent or MH for indoor grows. HPS are not considered stand alone grow lights and they are only used for supplemental lighting to prevent flowering in winter http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/guide3.shtml when I wanted to learn about growing plants I talked to people at the local garden center and took their advice.( I tell them I'm growing tomatoes indoors during the winter) my yield is around 0.75GPW which is more than enough to meet my needs and everyone I've given some to claims it's much better than what the dispensaries sell.I was in a safety sensitive occupation for 35 years and subject to random drug testing.I only started using cannabis after health problems forced me to retire so I do not consider myself a "STONER" and I'm not looking for the cheech and chong experience. I'm just looking for the best way to treat my health issues and have more faith in horticulturalist from the local university and green house operators than a group of anonymous stoners in a forum. T5s are the best selling grow lights so they must have something going for them :):):) for a space your size I would use something like this http://www.htgsupply.com/products/growbright-2-foot-tek-light-4-lamp but I know mine is a minority opinion here

Wow point taken Maurice ....But why should I listen to you your just anonymous stoner?
T5 grows killer bud. I just switched from t5. The are hot though. I thought they wouldn't be after reading what other had said about them. I found out otherwise. They are a lot hotter than led.

Led will blow t5 out of the water on yield. If you want uv you can always add a single 2 foot t5 bulb.

Some leds do have uv if the company uses uv diodes.

Yea after brief research it would be way to hard to keep the small cab cool! Was going to put to t5 in caddy corner vertically during flowering

After I get a few Grows (that actually produce) I'll invest in a led of that caliber. Maybe I'm being a cheapo. Thanks you though really didn't expect that!!

Well shit, now I want to add a 2ft UV T5 in my tent. Is there anything special to look for when buying a UV Bulb?

I would stick with horticulture bulbs.

Look into the Agromax 10,000k+uva bulb. They also make a pure uv bulb but it needs a separate timer as it only needs to run a few minutes on each hour.

Hortilux powerveg has uv but is exspensive.

Some of the reptile bulbs work but I don't know anything about them.

As always I appreciate your answers! And thank you for the info about putting a pure UV bulb on a separate timer.

Take my advice and go with the vipar you picked out. My friend is using the exact same 1 and is doing just fine. You will hear so many different things and only their way is the right way ect.. Your first couple grows is a learning curve and youve got to just start out small and figure out your own style of growing. If youre in a tight spot like me and heat is truly a concern then go with the vipar trust me. Taotronics makes a 36w full spectrum bulb for 30$ i use a couple of those with my 300 watt panels and im very impressed for my 1st run. Heres a pic of them i currently got them vegging a few plants. Everybodys gripe with the blurple lights is penetration sucks. These lights fix that. You can use these bulbs on the sides of your plant and really light that bitch up top to bottom. Happy growing

Here's my recently upgraded dual cab. The purple side is 90w. With 1ft by 1.5ft floor space. And 2.5ft of height. Got a Pineapple Chunk under that right now.

The white side is powered by twin 3500k Vero 29C cobs. Floor space is 1.5 sq ft. With 3.15ft of height. Got a second run on a mystery bean going in there. Both areas are done Screen of Green style.

Temps average 6-12°c higher than ambient. I'd say this is fairly efficient use of the given space.
