Hi guys I wanted ask your opinions on whether these cfls are too close to my seedling, they all about an inch away, maybe a little closer, haven't had any problems yet and it seems to be doing fine, the bulbs are only 25w so they produce almost no heat, but do you think I may run into problems having them this close this early on, the seedling is about a week old.
Sorry for the photo quality by the way, the cfls mess with my phone camera.

a bit close imo, but the plant seems happy. if it doesnt report negatively go for it.
you'll get more bang if you position them horizontally instead.

Yeah I'm watching it very closely now, because when I started the lights were a tad to far away and it stretched a bit. And yeah trying to find a way to position them horizontally ( all my lighting is suspended on strings so its a bit tricky) but hopefully I can find way, thanks a lot.

I try and cover all angles. One light on top and and 4 on the sides. I use the little aluminum shop lamps with the clamps that u buy at the hardware store for $5. They keep the light pointing where i want.

At this stage in your plants life, you could get away with using one of them cfls. Add the others as she grows. Nice avatar!

If those are the soft white bulbs which are 2700k -3200k spectrum that will induce stretch for sure.

Cool thanks, yeah I've moved them back a bit now to give it some room, the seedling was stretching a bit at first and i have to keep it short and bushy since I'm using cfls for the whole grow.

nice cfl's, just my 2 cents here, usually when i get a seedling i like to wrap the lights around it, instead of directly on top of it, in one of my grows i grew a seedling with 1 cfl and a 12 bell, then moved to 2 cfls on a splitter same bell and so on, it when it had plenty of leave sets, and transplanted then added more lighting cfl style...i can show you a picture of when i mean if you want....just my 2 cents, nice little one though
