i found some pipes that are advertised as vintage but these pipes seem to look like something you could buy today but the one thing that makes me question is the roach clips that come in the pipes, iv never seen a rod have clip like this and the seller has other items that are advertised as vintage and in storage but I figured everything from that era would have been is worse condition even in storage but some of the items I can identify as true vintage so I'm wondering if anyone from the 60s/70s remembers seeing anything like this. And one of his items are wooden pipes from a company called "mello-Juana" if that rings a bell to any of our veteran smokers, thank for taking a look guyshttp://m.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-2-Tobacco-Pipes-4-Removable-Bowls-2-Cig-Clips-Free-Screens-Unused-/272333935833?nav=SEARCH

the big spare bowl on the bottom with the groove around it, i definitely remember using those back in school, which would have been late 70s early 80s. the rest of it looks like it could be old, but i don't recall see that exact thing before.

Looks to be from the late 70s early 80s. I bought similar gear back in the day.
I have not seen the clips come sold with a pipe in many many years.

The different look to the elbow and clips appear to be tarnish. New the metals
    would likely be shiny.

So at one time back in the 70s they sold roach clips with pipes like this?

You sure its a roach clip and not a tool for the bowl? Looks perfect for placing a hot coal or moving and unblocking and lifting bowl content.

Just asking as roach clips are normaly sprung closed, not open for ease of passing around.

No i dont remember that. Roach clips were popular and there were some cool designs. I had a brass guitar roachclip in the 70's.

I dont remember ever getting anything extra with a bowl except maybe a few screens. It brings back good memories seeing that vintage "marijuans paraphernalia.

Edit...re the vintage memories , i thought those marble or soapstone pipes were on this page as well.

I see, but do these pipes and roach clips look to be of that era? And do you mean these? image.jpeg cuz I was wondering about seeing these around in those days as well and if they look like they could be vintage

Its a roach clip. You put the roach in and close it then slide the coiled piece up to lock it. The stone pipes in the last post can still be found on eBay today new.
