Attitude's Pineapple Express Auto

Hello, Its been a while since i grew anything from seed. Its been a while since I grew anything really! Been smoking overpriced weed from DGC and the dreaded soapbar. I could bide by the law no longer so i got myself some seeds.

I admit that i did not notice they were auto's, neither did i know what an auto was. Well, I could have chosen better for my old loft cab but these ladies are what im stuck with for this one.

5 seeds germinated at the end of January in coir pellets. One seed came up upside sideways and eventually died.

Seedlings in domes under 24/7 400w hps from 1st February.

All 4 re-potted by 2 weeks.

Light Phase changed to 18/6 on 16th February.

Ill post some pics shortly. Reason for my thread is im completely new to autos and i expect i might make some schoolboy errors. Im hoping for a little guidance in return from some bud porn at a later date.

Great to have You and ur experiences come along for the ride. Ive read a lot of suggestions to where the origins of this strain lie. I like the sound of your chunky skunk!

My main concern at this stage is the light phase. Do i let them run now the whole way at 18/6? I guess id rather have them go to 12/12 at some stage but im pretty old skool.

2nd concern is how big are they gonna get? Im in a pretty tiny loft cab and ive seen some folk grow 15oz off 1 plant - It wasnt an auto. Im assuming autos will yield far less than this. An oz from an 18" plant?

Is it possible to clone autos?

How about re-vegging?

Should I top them at any stage, if so when?

Thanks in advance for any constructive notes.

I recommend 20/4 but yes keep them on the same light schedule the whole way.
Pot size really affects size but they probably won't get above 2' and an ounce is possible off of an 18" plant.
You can't clone or reveg them.
Do not top them.
Also, it is generally better to start autos in their final pot.

I agree with blimey on all his points. Autoflowering plants are notoriously difficult (many are impossible) to clone due to their autoflowering tendency. Same goes for re-vegging...they continue to flower under 24 hour light...do not top them because they will not have enough time to recover from the stress...they barely veg at all, so any stress will affect bud/resin production (same goes for repotting, so just grow them in a reasonably sized pot from the start)

While some growers choose the 24/0 schedule for autos, I (and many other growers) believe that the short period of darkness is beneficial for the plant. IMO, 20/4 would be the way to go...

Whoa, Thanks everyone. Never expected such an enthusiastic response. I guess Sundays the day to get a thread going :) Collectively you have answered all my initial concerns. Im afraid i only put one seedling straight into its final pot and its clearly way ahead of the other 3. I would say, "ill remember for next time," but I think Ill avoid auto's next time.

I been on 18/6 for a few days now. Should I switch them to 20/4 or leave them as they are? I dont want to stress them or bring on any baws.

I went with the largest pot size I had, 10 inches. Ive never used anything larger than this before as height is always an issue. Im gonna let them run as they are.

Peace out, thanks for the help folks.

Whoa, WTF happened there, Back to the start for this wee grow Journal type thing. Some crazy hacker forced a change of server by admin and some data was lost - Typical! :)

Jeez, gonna have to take this back to where we were.

Day 18

View attachment 2071758

Group Shot, clearly already there is a dominant plant. She was put into her Final pot as a seedling whereas the other 3 went into half litre pots for the first week to 10 days.

Day 22

View attachment 2071778

Another of the same, they fairly shot up in a couple of days!

Day 25

View attachment 2071779

and they continue to stretch, I need to do something about this.

Day 27

View attachment 2071852 View attachment 2071861 View attachment 2071871

At this stage I was left with little option but to try a little LST and introduced a horizontal screen.

Day 29

View attachment 2071890

I saw little benefit in a horizontal screen with stems as thick as what i was starting LST with, opted for a vertical screen.

Day 32

View attachment 2071907 View attachment 2071914

Screen is filling up and the flowers are in bloom :)

Day 35

View attachment 2071945View attachment 2071949

Buds filling out a wee bit :)

Day 37

View attachment 2071980View attachment 2071997View attachment 2072003

I wish i had scrogged sooner, oh well, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Days 40, 42 and 43 resp ( Getting Tedious)

Every day I'm seeing a difference. Its crazy.

So that's where i'm at with these Pineapple Express Auto's from G13 Seeds. The plan is to put down some photo-period Blue Cheese imminently so they go to flower when the PE finish.

I hope RIU take a more frequent back up after the hassle of reposting all this.

Neglected the Girls last night, had to work late. Im certain they'll be fine if not a lil thirsty. Im so tempted to hack a bit off and quick dry it. These are the words of a desperate man in a drought with only shit soapbar resin to smoke. Any scots wanna PM about bartering, feel free.

Day 46 Update

They seem to have stopped stretching, maybe cos i haven't moved the light any higher. I cant move the light any higher! Flash shows some nice frosting & they're very fragrant :)

No Mites, No Gnats, still a house spider in there despite me killing one last week. Never seen him but i got caught in a new bit of web.

I cut a wee bit off, i know im daft but im feeling nicely mellowed, hands feel great and the pain subsides. Microwave works a treat

Day 57 Update

Been a while since posting, I never thought anyone was still reading this so i never bothered. Sorry about the issue with the pics. I figure its when i post a comment, having been idle when uploading pics, i get signed out for being idle and the pictures uploaded since that time do not get saved or something. I think that makes sense.

OK, ill go back and start again from where the pics stop
