Auto grow lighting idea !!

Hi guys
My idea is to use t5.s half the auto grow 5 weeks then 400w hps for five weeks would this work !!!!

I know t5 are best for veg
And hps best for flowering and cos autos start flower around the 2and 1/2 week mark im wondering if the bud development would get hurt being under the t5 for 5 weeks !!!
Two reasons why im interested in doing it this way is saving on electric and also hoping to do a rotation with two growing areas t5 for veg hps for flowering . Thanks for reading any feedback be great

I have no experience with CFL's. But I grow my autos under MH for 5-6 weeks. Then switch over to HPS and they are just fine.

I think you could actually use the T5 for the whole lifecycle of the autos

Yeh im sure i can but i understand bud development wouldnt be to great ence the five weeks swop idea maybe if the t5.s have red builbs in them aswell as blue wonder if that would be better

I have both hps and t 5 I Don t see much of a difference. My hps is only 400 maybe 600 would be better. I think t 5 for 5 weeks and finish under hps would work great. .

a lot of people grow autos as well as photos under florescent using a 6500k/3000k mix and get good results.you could also leave the T5s in and just add the hps when the plant look ready to start flowering

You could, but it would probably be better to use common 100w replacement LED bulbs. Much more efficient and better growth. I was using 185w total of CFL in an early flower chamber and when I upgraded it to 12 of the LED bulbs, 168w total, the increase in growth was amazing. The plants also no longer got burnt when moved to the higher wattage COB late flower chambers. I don't know how they would react to being moved to HPS though.

just check out my indoor journal that i did a couple years back that was growed under cfl's turned out great , i used the 2700k and a few 6500k mixed in there the whole grow 8 total for 3 plants and had no real issues growing grow area was a 48inch x 48inch x 6ft
no question. fluorescents will grow plants. been using them for 3 years. tried LED light bulbs in my house but had a 20% failure rate after 6 month.I a space that large T5HOs would be a lot more effiecient and a lot cooler

I just keep reading t5.s are not good enough for good bud thou ence thats why i thought half and half t5 for 5 weeks then over to hps think going to just run 250 w hps for jalf grow then onto 400
