Autos made seeds... what happened?

So I pulled two a few autos from my garden today (Great White Shark and 3 White Yoda) as they were finishing up and I noticed 2 of the Yoda and the GWS had seeds. Not a ton of seeds but every bud site had about 1 or 2 pods. The bud otherwise finished fine and has a good 15-20% amber trichome distribution.

What I'm wondering is how does this happen? No bananas on the plants so hermie seems unlikely. This is my I did 6 Great White Shark autos outdoors this season as well and none of them seeded. Rogue pollen seems unlikely as I have a few other strains that are clones in the grow area and they are still about a week from finishing but have no seeds or bananas. Only these select autoflowers. Throughout flower I kept the area at around 75-80F, ~50% humidity.

The seeds themselves look nice with the telltale stripes so would these also have auto traits in them? This has got me confused so I'm hoping maybe more experienced autoflower growers might point me in the direction of solving this.

Somethin got her most likely herself. Seems like 1 outta 4 put out one small sack and i get a few seeds. Iv noticed that they have ALWAYS been on the lowest branch twords the base and they are hard to see (like almost underdeveloped but just big enough). The only reason iv noticed them is because i wet trim as i do my harvest. During my grows i check as much as possable for balls especially twords the end but it still happens. I honestly just eat the seeds lol I dont see much point in trying to grow them out. They might turn out good but they may be herms and i cant waist time.

I guess I wrote that wrong but I meant the stripes are there so they look viable and would they have auto traits or does it revert back? I am unfamiliar with how the auto trait is passed around if it gets diluted by other genetics. I'm going to try to pop a couple to see if anything grows and save the rest.

Depends if the auto trait is recessive or dominant as to what you'll get. You'll likely get some autos and some phenos.

Yeah, free seeds, that's awesome. If they were chalk full of beans it would be disappointing but heck a couple of fresh beans your next grow seems like a nice little gift.

Last year's outdoor harvest ended up netting me a total of two seeds that I planted this year. Love getting that little treat when I'm trimming up the outdoor haul.
