Bag Space Question

Hey RIU,


I have a 4ft x 4ft x 6.5ft grow tent. Plenty big for me since I plan on doing 1wk veg then switch to 12/12.

Now this is where I'm stumped..

Should I just stick with 3gal buckets? If so how many do you think I can fit / should buy.

BY THE WAY.. I'm going to be getting geopots. I thought about smart pots but geo's seem to run slightly cheaper and looks to have better craftsmanship.

i like Geopots as well...especially the G-lite Series...i would not go bigger than 3 gal pots....if your doing a "see of Green" style you can fit about 20 plants really close together...other wise if your going to top and want more grow space i would do 12 to 15 bigger plants.
also i would veg two weeks...depending on strain your plants will stretch 30 to 60% of their existing height.
i just bought 2 gal geopots g-lite series from monstergardens.com for like 2 bucks a peice.

You haven't mentioned your light wattage?


This will determine plant numbers.

You need at least 600w in a tent that size to fill it with plants. Ideally 1000w.

If you use clones it will be easier to do 1 week veg time but if you're growing from seed the plants will generally veg for around 3weeks anyway before you start seeing alternating nodes and then flowering.
