I have a 400w hps magnetic ballast. The ballast heats the entire grow room up. My temps inside my box is 81 degrees, outside of the box is 84 degrees. I was thinking of putting the ballast in the attic and just drop the cords down to the grow box to seperate the ballast and the grow room.
Summer time temps around here get up to 100+ degrees, and I would imagine its quite abit hotter in the attic during those times. Will that kind of temps cause problems with the ballast that is already hot? Or should I be good to go and have an easy solution to seperating the heat generating ballast from the rest of my grow room?
