Barneys Farm Liberty Haze smoke/grow report

Whoa! Such an influx of activity on this thread all of the sudden. It's nice to see some interest in the liberty haze...

it sounded like a good smoke report to me. you used actual adjectives. a strain can be jittery and paranoid as well as couchlock too. some strains start you out with a high and then creep into a stone, but even motivational strains like haze skunk can hit you with lead eyelids while keeping you active at the same time.

that's why good smoke reporting means so much to me. buzzes vary a lot between strains with a bunch of different effects in different combinations. that you were able to identify raciness AND stone and then put it into words kicks ass. you did a way better job than all of the aholes who make giant grow reports talking in depth about nute levels and temps bt the minute with lots of pretty pics, and then leave you scratching your head with some BS "man this shit is DANK!" OR "BEST SHIT EVER!" which tell you exactly nothing.

ya did just fine. now i know that liberty haze just isn't my cup of tea. you mentioned it's couchlock, and that's always the first question i want answered that i literally begged and pleaded for from people suggesting super silver haze and apollo 11 years ago. no one would ever say anything more than "trust me, you'll love either of them". nah uh... not trusting anyone who can't give a straight answer.

nice report. keep up the good work helping the res of us decide what we want to try or not. +REP
Thank you for the kind words, hazey. I am glad that you found my report useful and that I was able to describe the haze with some measure of intelligence. With such encouraging words maybe in the future I won't be hesitant to post a report.

tell us anyway! what did you yeild dry your first grow, off how many plants?
Other pertinent questions include

1. How long was cure time at time of smoking?

2. How long was dry time (from cut to stem snapping)

3. Any plant pics/link to grow journal?

Hello grassified. I was only avoiding the total weight because I felt after seeing the results in might reflect badly on the strain rather then the grower, where blame should be placed. This was my first grow and like many first timers I started off with cfls in a tiny cabinet and then slowly upgraded until by the end I had plenty of lights in a large tent. Also I should note that because I was not running a fan during "lights out" that I developed a powdery mildew problem at the end and some cola's (two large ones) got bud rot and had to be chopped and tossed.

I'm explaining this in detail just so you know why my yield was so low. Anyway, on to your questions!

When all was said and done I was able to yield 90grams, dry, from 5 liberty haze plants. There was also somewhere around 85+grams of popcorn bud/fluffy airy bud/trim that I used for extracts and edibles. Anything that wasn't a nice dense hard bud got tossed into the latter pile.

1.) I've been curing since the chop. Around 60 days so far, And will continue curing. Was cured approximately 3 weeks at the time of this report.
2.) Average dry time for me was 4-5 days from chop until put into jars.
3.) Tons of photos and all sorts of info/discussion regarding this grow. You can find the link to the grow in my signature, below. (Amaximus' Half-Assed CFL/LED First Grow™)

If I am not lazy I'll try my best lol.
Try not to be lazy! I'll keep an eye out! heh.

i wasn't trying to be kind, about the kind. i just appreciate a good smoke report and had to correct the misinformation that you didn't give a good one. i assure you, i totally had ulterior motives to surreptitiously trick you into writing more reports and using even more adjectives in the future.

only 170 grams from 5 plants?? how big is your tent? im interested to hear about your skill improvements. i just finished curing mine. I averaged 272 grams per plant and had 5 plants in a 4 sq meter tent, i also use a 1000w hps light over led. but thats personal preference. gl with future grows.

Hi every body,i am completely newbie on that forum(but not in outside growing) and over that i am french Canadian,so it will definitely be possible that my language have some faults. So i bought few Barney's Farm Liberty Haze(they have all sprout yesterday) to grow it outdoor here in Quebec(october 15 is about the later before frost),because every seedbanks and the breeder said that it is ready at the end of september. After a few look on this forum,i see that there is two pheno,an indica and a sativa,i could definitely not go forward the sativa because a to short possible outdoor flowering period.(I know that i could put it in a bucket and go home in the evening, but it is not possible for me).
Finally here is my question for Amaximus or anyone who know, before flowering getting start, did you see any difference between the indica and the sativa pheno? Larger or thinner leaves? Growing faster or slower? Because if i could know,i will not loose time with the sativa pheno and give them to a friend wich will grow it indoor, but the indica pheno harvest period is interesting to me and this is my target
Thanks

I have found that Liberty Haze takes at a minumum 75 days. Could have gone longer. Used 1000whps, yielded 2.3oz a plant. Excellent high. I find it soaring and then after awhile it just about knocks you down as mentioned in the review at the top. Good smoke, buds not very compact but that may have been because of the lack of light. Overall easy to grow. The pic is at 75 days flower.

That looks great for your first grow. I was thinking about the BF liberty haze but decided to do a run of the BF LSD first because of the high thc content and the great reviews about it, ready for harvest in a week from today so won't be long for a smoke report for that. But I may try this next

Here's some pics of a 10 Liberty Haze grow that yielded 2.3 oz per plant under a 1000W hps. Definitly not enough light. Excellent medicine, takes you soaring but if you smoke to much you are going down into couchlock mode.

well,i say that liberty haze is the worst strain ive ever had to deal with.it will never finish and now I just don't even care anymore.they say flowering time of 9 weeks and should be changed to "hundreds of days"its not stony and tastes nothing like it smells.in fact it tastes like nothing.worst stain ever.i can think of a bunch of better sativas with shorter flower times and better nug.let em go 90 days and still white hairs and clear frost.wasted sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much time and money.DO NOT BUY THIS STRAIN.

Hmm. I have a LH at 70 days flowering now. I see others have grown this out successfully between 75-80 days. I wonder what went wrong? How long did you flush?

i have grown this strain indoor and out.
i have a 65 day strain and an 80 day strain.
outdoor one finished about 10 october one i pulled oct 15 could of went longer but weather.
as for claiming garbage i disagree. great floaty head high with no lethargy. depends on what you want in a strain.
i am very active person and keeps me motivated.
i agree does have a very musky/moldy smell when cured. have a half ounce cured 5 months.
taste is great a floral incense with the 65 day strain and 80 day(the keeper) has a limey floral incense taste.
link to my smoke report.

I hope you are hooked now and congratulations on a nice grow. I'll be harvesting some Liberty Haze in about a week. With your review I can hardly wait.
Good Luck!

Here's my experience. Nine plants. Five(ish) phenotypes. Six hermies :finger:. Three turned purple (not expected) and were exceptionally weak. The non purple varieties had more frost but not exceptional. That said, there was one good one that didn't have balls. Very frosty, excellent hazey spicey smell. 65 days. It's dank and better than most in these parts but I've had better. Most people have found it a nice 'up' high but every now and then it will hit somebody wrong in a couch lock sorta way.Medium-high yield. Medium stretch.

The thing I will take away from Liberty is an abiding belief that this seed never should have been released in the first place. It needed to be stabilized. The smoke is fine but i expect better results in a seed, especially at premium prices. Sorry Barney's. I'll still hang a right at Central Station and come see you for breakfast though. But I will leave without seeds.

Edit: don't recall any problem with excessively long time to harvest.

Good post. I'm actually 5weeks into flower with BF LH and she is beautiful. I'm even more excited now that I seen your report. I'm curious to know how the cure turned out.
