Battery Operated Timer?

I plan on growing this year outdoors in a very, very desolate place. I wont be able to check on my grow every day for watering. This is were I came up with the plan to have a cheap irrigation system running off a 12v car battery. It consists of a water pump timer, water pump, reservoir, and a car battery. I have the pump, reservoir, and battery but I have no clue were to find a timer that I can directly hook up to the battery. Has anybody tried a method like this to have a self-watering system for growing outdoors? any help is appreciated. thanks

Hi WAYNE
sounds COOL!

I would suggest getting a small solar cell and hooking it to your battery. It will charge your battery pretty darn good in a sunny setting.

It would be great if you kept a journal and showed the details of your grow. Many people dream of a grow like the ONE you are talking about, but few can actually pull it off.

cheers

You might be better off using gravity and some sort of drip-system. Just elevate the water barrel in a tree or raised platform.
