Becoming a caregiver in Maine?

From what I can tell, most caregivers are patients.

I am wondering about reselling, not growing and selling on the black market.

either way im sure people are doing it. at least patients who get reasonable rates on thier meds. alot of patients are getting ripped off. IMO 50$ an 1/8th is a ripoff i dont care how good the quality is. especially if your 100% legal. save the expensive meds for the black market and take care of the patients....

Back in the day, i used to spend a lot of time going back and forth to NYC in the late fall & early winter. A friend of mine had a customer who worked on Wall Street. This guy had two concern about his cannabis - it had to be the best quality possible and it had to cost more than any of his friends were paying. The moral of this story is that no matter what you personally think of a price, there someone somewhere who is happy to pay that price.

Having said that, i would never try to sell my patients meds for the price that guy was paying 20 years ago. But i was glad my friend could do it.

When i visited the dispensary for the first, and last time I was amazed at the folks ready to pay $18 a gram for bud. I bought nothing! This was in Portland. Is that the going rate for a good bag on the street of a larger city in ME? I live in the sticks where prices are a bit more realistic. $200 for a good Oz. Just wondering if this is normal price. Btw 18 a gram is over 5 bills an oz for Jack H. Ounce price for MOB was. more reasonable, as well as gram, $13 i think.

not really sure what your point is MB

most of my patients are disabled and cant work. They live on a fixed income and cant pay them prices even if they wanted to.

canabis only gets so good.....my shit is top of the line and i sell it for 10 a gram when they can afford it and 0 a gram when they cant...

my personel opinion...the people buying that shit arent "patients" they have aquired thier cards and can now freely and legally buy bud. my patients..they cant afford and would never afford that. if you want my opinion most mmj patients (the real ones) are disabled livingon a fixed income and to legally get thier meds they are forced to buy from overpriced caregivers, who take thier plant count and pretty much bone them.

anyways....like stated above i am being flamed for even mentioning selling patients medicine so this thread is pretty much dead..i was just looking for some info and i got what i needed.

Who are you to say one person is more qualified as a patient than another? If they have the card you can legally do business with them. Im not sure what the difference is between a real patient and a fake one. IMO anyone with a valid card is a patient, and I will happily help them out.

I read this thread, and dont think anyone has "flamed" you. You have to recognize you are patting yourself on the back before you have done anything. Saying you are selling bud only to patients, but you are not legal to do so. I respect your view on the whole thing, but it is not realistic. This is a business, marijuana is a commodity...just like anything else. As a caregiver the best thing a patient can do is buy their max. You will never do that selling 10 dollar grams (which isnt a great deal). The disabled patients living on a fixed income dont need to be your patients for you to give them bud.

Also..What do you qualify as Medical Marijuana? The state has ZERO standards to meet, so it is all about the honesty of the grower, and the discretion of the patient. Until the state comes up with a mandatory minimal quality of some point to meet medical standards, its all just bud.

sorry for the lecture, just needed to be said.
