Cool, thanks for reply. Was confused as i think i was looking at the RapidLED site i think, which listed 3 drivers in the cob description, 1700, 1800 and 2400. Better efficacy and cooler running on the 700 right?
If the output voltage is 360 on the 700ma, i can run 5 x 72v cobs?

yes
but the most efficacy is with 350 ma

Hi guys, new to LED's, wonder if anyone can help. I want to build a light for a 6x4 area with 11-1500 ppfd for high CO2 environment. Cree do a 72V 3590 COB, can i run 5 COBs on a 700ma Meanwell? I want to keep the amps down to the minimum whilst running the coolest but highest efficient setup, was thinking 4 drivers, 20 cobs. Is possible?
Why one should keep amps as low as possible?
High voltage is dangerous and there is also no COB-holder rated for 360v as far as I know.
There are also lots of better and cheaper chips as CXB3590's, you can get Luminus CXM22 or Citi 1818 for 20$ each with same or better effiency.

nobody has an actual measurement to back that number up but we do know relative performance from cob to cob in repeatable measurements.

you can buy cobs that are slightly more efficient than CXB at all currents for half the price (luminus cxm22, citi 1818 )

"If" the crees are 64% at chip level at that wattage "then" the other chips are 65-66%

you can also buy cobs that are even more efficient than CXB at about the same price (citizen 1825, vero 29C)

Sorry i don't understand, these companies such as Rapid, Cutter etc are supplying holders to match say a Cree 3590, are u saying the holders can't handle the voltage of the cobs? The 700ma driver can handle 360v of cobs, are u saying keep it under the max for safety?
Low amps is with the idea of a domestic wall plug rated at 13amps, squeezing as many drivers/fixtures as possible under the amp limit, without having to alter the power supply/amp box.
Also, don't the Cobs run cooler and more efficiently the softer you drive them?

i still didn't decide it about the flowering time
i was thinking about giving 1 month to 2 4x4 so like ill have yield each month from 2 tents out of 4...
or to put theme all on the same time and to give 12h light to 2 tent and the other 2 in dark and then swap
it will depend on the cloning
i first wanted to put 4 600W HPS but i sew the amazing results of the cobs(grow mouse videos)
so those 400W can be used for ac or some more filters
so what do you think?im planing to get 0.5kg from each table is it possible with cobs?
or to keep the hps?
I'm sure you can expect 2lb+ per 4x4 with enough light and co2, if the environments right and strain dependant, grown right of course. That's what i'm aiming for. These LED's can outperform a Gavita 1000 DE it appears, it's just deciding what setup is best. It gets more confusing when people are stating this setup is better, that setup is better etc....

The Ideal COB-holder are usually rated to 250v max., 4 72v COB's in series are above that.
You could wire them in a series-parallel connection, 2x 3 COB's in parallel would be okay. The current is divided to the two strings. A HLG-320H-1400B could drive them at 700mA each for about 303w net. and ~330w total.

But you could use Citi CLU058-1825 gen.6(50v COB's) for the same costs and use a CV/CC driver like a HLG-320H-48A and run all the COB's in parallel. To work with 48v is much safer as with 360v and these drivers have voltage and current regulation(43-53v/3,3-6,7A), they are also available as B-version with external dimming option(resistance, 10v, pwm).

Vero29 B's for ~20$ are hard to beat value : performance :quality. At ~50w each will give you 2.2µmols/w(system level with most drivers). Using 12 on (2) HLG320h-c1050's will save you on chips and still be the same efficiency as (20) 3590. This is based on sphere and gonio data of completed fixtures by certified labs(Light laboratory, TUV, CSA), not spec sheets.

is it still the 3590?
i just wont to start planing my build and i dont know witch led to order
money isn't issue i just want the best
Best is very subjective. It appears (from Highbredway) that the Amare Technologies CoB hybrids bring something extra to the table

I use them and an original BML SYPDR 600 which combines red and blue monos with CW/NW/WW monos, which predates Amare

4x Vero29b = ~200v @1050 it's around 210w. (maybe use a HLG-320H-C1750 for 350w)
5x Vero29c = ~350v @1050 that's around 370w

At the same current you should more or less get the same effiency from both COB, because the Vero29c has only longer strings and therefor needs more vf and power to produce more light. Effiency is more or less identical.
But when you setup both COB's to use ~50w the "c" Vero would be more efficient because of less current(700mA vs. 1050mA).
So if you dimm the second setup with 5 Vero29c down to 210w it would be more efficient.

Plus, despite the extra wattage the C option will emit about the same amount of waste heat as the B option (similar cooling cost).

I reccomend 3 Veros on a 240W, you only need this many to do a bar that covers a 4' long area.
It is also a much cheaper driver... Remember to mount your driver vertically
You could also use their less expensive cousin Bridgelux V22 which can be found much cheaper.
