Best new strain for newbies?

whats the best new strain for starters, prefferbly a strain thats from '06-'08 cannibus cup. 600 hps/mh closet hydro grow w/ da works. Also a phat dap to all my hommies spreading da love down south (texas!) and for all those angels spreading the knowledge of the forbbiden fruit ~_-

I have read in journals that Super Lemon Haze is not hard to grow and it won the Cannabis Cup last year.

Lemon haze is on da list of possibles. anyone w/ exp lemon haze? and sry for the mutiple post got an error sayin post didnt go thru ..it did :)

If you want something that is easy to grow Skunk #1 used to be advertised as maybe being the only strain that took more experience to smoke than to grow. In other words it is easy to grow but potent.
　
The most important question to ask yourself before picking a strain is what do you want from what you grow? Do you want a sativa high or an indica stone or a combination of high and stone? If all you want is to get something that will alter how you feel there are about 1,700 choices or so to pick from but if you have certain likes and dislikes that would narrow the list down somewhat. There would still be many to pick from but at least you would be picking from the better options according to what you like the most.

So what do you like the most? A sativa high? An indica stone? A combination of both?

I was gonna try my hand at both, a mostly sativia and a most indica strain, split my crop down the middle. Figured this will help my learning curve a bit plus give me a variety.

Super Lemon Haze is the front runner, it won cannabis cup 2008 by a landslide of votes. But i will have to warn you this plant has a tendency to grow tall and in a closet with 600w light, i can assure you there maybe a few heating issues, im not sure the size of your closet. If you have more room then a small confined closet, give it a shot with SLHaze from Greenhouse Seeds Co, personally i cant say i have tried any bud that has as good of taste and still contains that potent kick like SLHaze.

I was able to buy a sample of Super Lemon Haze, from Greenhouse Co. at CC'08. Then recently was able to try some smoke from a buddy that grew it indoors, having gotten the seeds from Greenhouse. The characteristic of both buds remain the same, no noticeable variation that i can remember from bud grown by seed co itself and the homegrown. It had a typical haze smell (very dank, with a hint of fruit), and the taste was a very thick deep fruity taste , with lemon undertones. Very exceptional bud, cant go wrong. It is on the top of my list as far as my next grows. Shouts to my Texas Boys!!

lemon haze for my sativa it is then :) as for heating issues there will be none ive got state of the art enviro controls and a very big closet to work with. now any suggestions for my indica?

Just giving my 2 cents...my favorite indica to grow is sensi star. Its an easy strain to grow but still has those super quality genetics. It was my first grow ever and over the years after trying other strains, i find myself going right back to it. I have grown pure sensi star and Domina star(sensi star x black domina). I have noticed an incresing numbers of sensi star hybrids being devloped, which seems pretty appealing to me, you might look in that direction.
