I pruned my auto very selectively, didn't top her. Autos hate stress and I noticed that when I did prune her back in VEG the growth stopped for a week or so.
I removed select sugar leafs to allow light into the lower canopy.
I think that in a tent grow with an auto LST is vital. also a good SCROG netting helped ! I did a lover SCROG and then an upper SCROG. This was a game changer.
As for the main bud terminal (top) I pulled her to the side in the SCROG instead of topping her. Topping her wasn't an option for me. I hear people say you can top them, I'm sure you can but good LST is and was just affective. my main cola is the same size as all the other bud terminals.
Once again.. there are many people that do top them and butcher the shit out of them.. i am not that person !
Your window of opportunity to prune and top are very small. pruning slows growth in autos as does topping. time you don't have !
