Even here in Anchorage frozen halibut filets cost between $19-25/lb- we got ~50# that we caught in the freezer :bigjoint:

Kinda funny we get the same thing here.i see walleye for $18 all the time:mrgreen:.
i took my father and step mother out for dad's 75th birthday couple years ago. it was a higher end restarant that's been around since I was a Lil boy. I get a ribeye, step mom gets a pasta dish, dad? He Gets the bluegill dinner!?!? Sunfish?? I catch those whenever I want (yes,my most favorite fish for a fish fry!!) I really didn't care if that's what he wants but at $45 I was like" let's go catch some tomorrow":bigjoint::bigjoint:

I worked at the U in Twin Cities lived about 25 mi away and would fish to and from work a couple times/week weather permitting. Lakes everywhere, so I'd could kill 20 min in transit and nail 5-6 sunnies everytime. On Sat. would have a fish fry with the weeks catch (beer batter).

Sounds interesting but expensive.
We've got a couple of buffalo herds here (Feral - owned, but basically wild/free roaming) that are hunt-able. Cost is $2000 for a meat bull which if you break down the numbers is pretty reasonable.
There's a buffalo farm near me where you can kill a buffalo and keep they hide and head for $700...
