Nice find, yup that's a pileated woodpecker and rose breasted grosbeak. Be cautious with those woodpeckers, they'll mess your home up. The baltimore orioles are back and they love oranges and grape jelly, plus they're a treat to listen to. I really enjoy seeing these birds around house but if you're ever in the Metro area stop by Stony Creek metro park. There's is eagles, osprey and just about every other bird if you keep your eyes peeled.

We have a cardinal nest in the bush in our front yard . One hatched 2 days ago but it's been real cold at night so I think it died but maybe not I try to stay away from the nest but it's literally on my front porch !

Oh no that's unfortunate. That night we had the frost all the birds pigged out at my feeders, it was weird how many I had that day.

Hell yeah, those orioles are aggressive, really pretty birds though.

Last summer I was walking my dog on the boardwalk by the grand river, and I didn't even realize at first what was hitting me in the head. I was wearing a baseball hat, so it wasn't really noticeable, but it was attacking my head lol. That bird probably hit me 3-4 times before I turned around to see what the hell was hitting me. Scared the shit out of me when I seen that damn bird hovering over me lol. Some guy was sitting on a bench watching and laughing at me, he told me the oriole had a nest with babies in the bushes I just walked by.

So 4 of my 5 robins nests ...are done...I was in Chicago for a few days n came home to empty nests..there's no way these chicks could have fledged n left on their own...they barely had feathers @ last checkup... My dog killed a raccoon a week ago.. Big one ...its rare for coons to come near my house, everything kinda keeps it distance cause he's allowed outside at any given time..he's lean n mean @ 130 lbs n getting old @ 7 years old but he's been followed home by 7-8 coyotes for stealing bones multiple times... So I can only assume that another bird ate the chicks...a cat would have to take the nest down to get em...gotta be a bird that committed this atrocity..

The one nest that made it is 15' off the ground and under my soffit on a piece of 6" exhaust on a heater that I've never fired up... I'm thinking bluejays...my opinion on them just did a 180...I'm not happy

I have seen crow's swoop down and eat baby birds right from their nest before, maybe that's what happened.
