Blair And The Terminator

This has been on our news, not sure about yours. BUt it's true, so please don't ask me to provide a link.

Blair and Arnie have joined in the battle against carbon emissions. I believe they want the world's carbon emissions to be cut by 60% (or was it 40?) by the year 2050.

I honestly don't care whether or not we are helping to cause global warming. I just want a cleaner earth. It is a fact that our pollutants are a major contributor to cancers. We do have alternatives, let's start using them. The world needs to move as one. It is good to have opposition, the stronger the better because this brings out the truth, even if it is marred heavily with lies.

We as cultivators should be more in tune with the earth than your average joe. We understand that it is the little things that make a difference. We need to think about our children and the earth we will be leaving to them, we need to think about the little things we can do to help the earth. Recycling is an excellent start. I do it. Cardboard, plastic milk cartons, squash bottles, newspapers. All of these things can be recycled. Another good idea, but this one is more for our governments, we could start growing cannabis for it's fibres, making paper, textiles, ropes... We need an attitude change, the whole world needs to feel the same way on this subject. It's not like you have to do much, like I said it's the little things.

"I just want a cleaner earth."

me too.

i also agree with f2b; the sooner we get this hydro-carbon burning binge behind us and into the history books the better we will be. nuclear and solar is the way to a clean future.

it's easy to imagine a scenario when it was discovered that burning vegetable oils and animal fats would provide light someone protested saying that it's too difficult to control the flame, too easy to cause an accident compared to the convention of burning wood and turds for light...that's where we are with nuclear.

the oil companies love that fear, so do the mining companies and all the pyro maniacs of the world.

I think we're waiting to see what happens to Iran and korea. They have nuclear energy projects. If they blow themselves up we know we still have a way to go before it can be introduced.

i don't think the results of "shade tree" nuclear energy projects should have any impact on the rest of the world. that would be like saying that we should probably put space exploration on hold because Mexico had a mishap with a rocket. those countries (dprk, iran) are pretty much going at it alone and pioneers do tend to get all the arrows...

Exactly, a whole new future. A cleaner one, science fiction usually becomes scince fact. Jules Verne... H G Wells... Arthur C Clarke... Isaac Asimov... Iain Banks... where in any of these great books do you read of oil?

Our future will be one without oil. Why not start now?

yes a future without oil would be a nice way to go
but too many fingers are in the pie my friend
if they could take out the wealth it creates for the greedy few,
it could be done, once again it`s money:joint:

Where one industry fails others are born. The only people with the money to do anything substantial anyway is most likely the oil companies. They could create sister industries with the view to these industries one day replacing oil completely.

It's just dirty. oil is dirty, not just to look at and touch but the fumes are toxic too. Everybody smokes whether they want to or not. Every time a car passes and they breathe, they may as well be smoking a cigarette. In my City from July 1st all pubs, clubs and restaurants will be non-smoking. Now I'm not as much to do with the club scene as I used to be but I imagine this new law is going to be difficult to enforce. The premises are threatened with closure if they do not comply. It is estimated that a record number of people will give up smoking on July 1st.

Anyway, my point is... That if we are going to be serious about our health then we need to tackle the broader issue of pollutants much more aggressively.

you speak wise words my friend,
i agree with you,as for the smocking ban i thinks it`s good as i have kids,
anyone who comes round my house and skins up or whatever they have to
go outside like me and my misses do,even as a smoker i don`t like being in public places where everyone is smoking, i personally like having a spliff outside or go for a walk in the country and take in the view.
