Blurple Led Yes or NO?

Blurples aren't really looked upon with favor here.

What makers are trying to achieve with blurple is to target only the plants A and B chlorophyll receptors (their two most responsive receptors). Which is fine. But a more filled out white spectrum actually works far better.

The other thing is. There's a lot of bullshit numbers being thrown about by the people who make these cheap lights. Numbers that really don't add up. Per example- claiming a light that draws 200w at the wall is comparable to 600w or more in output.

I'm not saying all blurples are crap. There are some that can do fairly well. Just that most aren't as good as what they're made out to be.

If you're serious about your lights. And you've got at least the smarts to read up on. And learn about building a COB kit. I'd say try that path. If not. We've got a few vendors on here who offer prebuilt kits.

@welight @CobKits ... sorry if I've missed anyone. I'm a bit short on the memory front. Also correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

I have a blurpee and the thing is AWESOME! My plants look just like the magazines and the smoke is primo so don't listen to anybody suggesting that a light wont grow BOMB ass bud just cuz it's from china. However... I do have a little money to play with so I'm going to purchase a Cob from timbergrowlights just so I can try it out myself. Then i can either call people out on the bull shit or tell them they were right.

P.s.... Everybody says their lights are the best. I know a guy who swears he can grow just as good bud as anybody with cfl's. I would read reviews of people who actually bought and own the shit.

Beware that people who support Cob lights will tell you that the reviews on blurpies are all done by mentally unstable people who smoke crack. Cob suporters will tell u that you can trust ANY review on Amazon... Except Blurpie reviews. Those are the only reviews on Amazon, that are falsified in order to throw off the buyer. It's all a big conspiracy according to Cob light supporters. Amazon is in on it too. They get a kick back from china for writing fake reviews, and for only letting the unstable crackheads review their lights...

Oh... All blurpie lights have a built in timer that will shut the light down after 2 months so you have to go buy another one. it's a secret only Cob light supporters know about. Shhhhhhhhh

Btw. I have both a blurple cob and a newer white twin cob setup. I'm happy with both.

But, I was almost conned into buying one of those cheap and nasty bullshit versions I was talking about. This was before I knew the difference between crap and creme.

which light do you have? do you have a journal or thread or pics showing what you are growing with that light? I'm just looking for examples and testimonials to the cheaper lights to justify one for 1 or 2 grows in a small cabinet. I am personally considering the Viparspectra 300w for my cabinet bit would love to.see more pics of actual use of them.

i've got 2x 600watt vipar spectras in a 4x4 tent. Just trying out the blurples for shits and giggles. so far im in week 2 of flower and lots of pistils popping out and the the plants didnt seem to stretch as much compared to 1000watt hps . but all i can say so far is, "so far so good."

I have been doing alot of reading and i hear blurple led is not the way to go
have you looked at grows on youtube using various lights?I own 2 cheap Chinese multiband grow lights (mars hydro, hollandstar) as well a a DIY bridgelux eb strip light. they all grow plants but my multiband units (blurple) started losing diodes in the first 6 month. I'm just a PU MMJ closet grower and not a professional grower. in my state I'm not allowed to sell what I grow. I do not use LEDs for my regular grows but I do have a separate closet where I have done LED test grows. cheap LEDs do not perform any better than other forms of lighting and not as well as some. don't have the money to test expensive lights. if anyone wishes to challenge my post please have compelling arguments and solid data

Blurple lights grow fine bud. You just need to use more watts due to their inefficiency, and be ok with a light that might only last 6 months
my CLW SS400 is still kicking it many years later. nothing wrong with a quality blurple. haven't done any side by sides but i think my 4200k LEC does an overall better job in veg than the CLW though. bloom they are about identical.

they are solid lights and CLW stands behind them. if you like that upgrade to their current models which are ~40% more efficient
they gave me the offer for the newest 550 one to try for reduced price but i bought 6 citi cobs from you instead. i liked the DIY aspect and cheaper price overall. the citis and the LEC are killing it in the flower room. the clw is my veg light now.
