Bonsais to Bushes

Hey Rollers.

I got more questions for ya.

I'm only on my second grow right now. And so far all I've grown is midgets. I want to be able to go bigger. Because my current confine can only handle about 30cm tall plants. After taking in to consideration pot heights and distances from the light. Which is pitiful.

I'm looking at getting a 2sq foot tent and a few other bits on ebay. I'm not looking to give up a kidney doing said upgrades though. With the image supplied. Can anyone spot any issues with my selections?

Screenshot_2017-03-16-22-05-37.jpgThe tent is about what I'm looking for size wise. And I figured that sized pot would be suitable to grow one decently hefty plant too.

The light I'm looking to add to this space is one of the cutter 4 COB kits (200w). I was leaning towards Cree. But, I've heard some good things about the Vero kits too.

Ah the shipping for that pot is quite high, 25$ all up for a pot seems too much I got mine for like 3-4$ each with free shipping mind you I had to buy 5 at a time.

And I also have that same tent paid slightly less than that for mine, except it's 60x60x160, slightly more headroom would be nice

And that fan and filter might not perform well, mainly the filter. If anyone has tried a filtroo filter and had no problems pls speak up :-) :-) personally I've never used one only a cheap ebay one wich was useless and also a CAN skinny filter 6inch by 400mm tall cost $99 and works really well, now I've got a phresh filter 6 inch 500mm tall, also works very well.

That duct fan will leak out stinky air if you push air into filter instead of sucking air out of filter

I know the pot is expensive. But it's 38L. Also. This is all going to Australia. Prices are a bit higher here.

How do you find that tent. Any issues? I mainly picked it due to having the metal corners. Rather than crappy plastic. And couldn't really justify the price of a Gorilla tent. Even though I'm sure they're awesome.

Okay so draw air through filter rather than exhaust through filter. Got it.

Found it on ebay somewhere a few months ago, same brand and everything kinda weird they didn't list that size on the picture

I haven't seen any that fit the same profile as yours. I'm not going to miss the few extra centimeters though. I'm gaining 10cm of base room in either direction. And another 60cm height.

Does it feel sturdy to you? Like zips and overall design?

Zips are nice, very noisy though but are heavy duty, tent is fairly thick too , havnt hung anything heavy in it though as it's my drying tent only hung plants in it

Derrrrp. I meant I gain 20cm square in the base. I could just about fit 4 of the current container in there.

Also. That pot is 600gsm. The others are only 300. Pretty sure that counts for something.

Hmmm. Well I guess that's okay. Not sure how heavy the cutter (4 light) cob kits are.

Hopefully with the fan and filter it'll still hold.

Pretty sure the tents also only come with 2 support/hanging poles on the top of the tent instead of the usual 4, could make it a little harder to get everything hung up

Cutter kit will be about 3-5kg, fan and filter probly the same or slightly more. It should handle it but probly not for too many years, i think those tents are rated for 10kg?

Found these two tents probably better options, I run the 200w cutter kit in a 80x80x160, and it's really nice I got 8 zips from one large plant scrogged out last time
Obv could use more light but it did well for me :-)

Although the 200w kit would rock a 60x60
And prolly get same yeild

Cheers man. I'm not looking to go too large though. That's about as big as I'd go.
It's just if your planning on hanging filter and light in The tent then that will take up about 30cm, then your pot is 30cm high, then your lights need to be hung about 20-30cm clearance above plant so your looking at 80cm of used space and and the rest is for the plant

It's going to be more than what I've currently got. I mean. My current pot is about 26cm tall and 28cm squared. My light is 7cm thick. But when hung it's 10cm. Straight off the carabiners. That's all in an 80cm tall confine. I'm left with 40cm of grow room. But about 20 of that is most usable, due to distance from light.

Okay but 140cm isn't a huge upgrade and Pretty sure if u hang filter next to the lights they wouldn't fit in a 60x60 space , you would need to have filter at the very top of tent then your lights hung slightly below it, unless you want to waste some floor space by putting it on the floor,

What are the outer dimensions of your lights?

And cobs seems to perform a lot better when given the proper distance from canopy, I had my cxb3590 running at 1400ma and had em as close as 4 inches or so above my plants with no bleaching but it looked like it stressed em a bit and buds were airier then normal.

Edit. A good 10-12inches or so above them is pretty good I've found so like 25-30cm

I'm going with a smaller filter. As the tent is still only small itself. I could even sit the thing on one of the side poles.

That's a great idea. Had never thought of that haha!

Okay small filter and small fan would be good choice, I'd personally get this mixed flow fan instead, one like this,

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/HYDROPONICS-4-INCH-INLINE-EXHAUST-GROFAN-MIXED-FLOW-VENTILATION-DUCT-FAN-/191616554043?nav=SEARCH

But completely up to you bro I just don't like those centrifugal fans cos they noisy and leak air
