That HLG 320H C1050 has 305 forward volts. I'm seeing that model of strip, on the Samsung data sheet, using 46 fv each, so that would be, just over 6 strips per driver in series. Looks like the testing was done on that model (LT-FB24B) that's the double row 4 footer at 2240 ma, so those L/w numbers wont hold up. IF I'm reading the Samsung data sheet correctly, first time I really looked hard at it....

Edit: something isn't adding up, calculation error somewhere.... standby LOL

To achieve 103 watts per strip, they'd have to be driven at 2240 ma....

Yeah i am having a hard time finding drivers with that, I also noticed they can be run at 108w, 48v and 3600ma lol. Wonder how much that would kill the lifespan running it at max, pushes it up to 190lm/w though. I would be happy just running 3 per driver but yeah worried about going over amps on my power outlets.

After hours, and hours of obsessing over efficiency, I elected on the EB series instead. I'm perfectly content with the power usage per "lamp" and the amount of useable light they provide. My $25 lux meter has made it even more satisfying, to know within reasonable variance, that the on paper numbers, are delivering as advertised. Not only that, but the REAL results are still impressing on each cycle. I have a 6 stage perpetual going, 3 flower stages of 217 w 1050ma 560mm 3500k, 2'X2' EB series panels. I'm getting 50000 lux somewhere around 10-12" from the strips....That's good enough for me, its working out WELL. Light is definitely not what is holding me back from the 1+ gpw ratio.

yep im seriously thinking of just doing the same, building a few more of these 6 strip jobs i've already done should be plenty that would give me 1200w of real LED wattage.

my goal is to be able to harvest every 30 days, (growing autos) or thereabouts and not have to worry about different light spectrums or shit like that, i feel this will achieve that fine and i already know how to build them, they are less amps and like you im getting nice lux (in the closet i put them in currently at 30inchs away from my seedlings getting 30k lux lol, pretty insane) even if i take these out in the open room i feel with 4 panels i'll easily get enough light spread to cover the area i want, 2 panels either side of a big table in a 10x10 room, running coco drain to waste is the goal.

edit: oh forgot to add, the best thing? the price. 1200w for $682 USD? insane

I did some calculations for a RIU poster in a micro box thread, maybe you saw it....
9x 280mm EBs at 1050ma will generate over 10,000 lumens, to saturate a 1.7sq foot area.
LESS than 100 bones to get the parts to achieve that. The light source consuming nearly ZERO vertical space. I'm actually considering several stackable boxes using the 2x2 formulas to maximize room volume....single plant mini rooms....

Well I have a par meter on the way I can run some tests and see how we go, heres my current setup. will be most likely turning this into a drip feed coco DTW setup or maybe blumats with 2 more of these panels

Would (6) 22" EB boards running at 1050ma be enough to flower a 32" by 16" area? I'm looking to increase my grow area from a 32"x 32" to a 48" x 32".

I'm planning on still using my 5 COB citizen setup(250w) so that should cover most the tent.

Um so getting into serious voltage and amps and wattage with all this I probably should be pretty careful yeah? Anything I need to worry about? How many amps will these be pulling i hope my power points can handle it.

Also can I run 3 of those double samsung strips on a
HLG-320H-C1050A

Since I already have those would save me some money, they also only run at around 1amp compared to the 6 of the 320H-48A
Standard household power circuit is good for about 1800W total. More than that and you'll need to put some on a separate circuit.

Yeah i double checked im good for 2400w and 10amp on each socket. These 2 boards run at just over 600w and only pulling 2.3amps

check the voltage at each +/- terminal of each strip with it turned on.
Need to buy a new multimeter. Just remembered can you fry meanwell driver wiring it backwards? Input output leads

Trying to build another light with the 3500k 22" strips for a 32x32x63 space for veg and flower mainly veg. Having a hard time figuring out how many is too many.

EBs are significantly cheaper and do not even need a heat sink if run at 700ma or less for the 560s. That's the way I roll :)

Yes I do believe.
Ive got 8x 22"ers, running at 1050, that blankets a 2'x2' area nicely.

well, thats a very good point, i can only get an aluminium frame around here, and if i go with samsung strips maybe that is not enough to cool them.

Mine on a thin sheet of ALU don't go above 40c

I'm excited got a par meter coming this week, will finish building my 2 panels so will have 4 panels total for 1200w, can't wait to do a par map up.

Will be nice to be able to spread my girls out a bit so they have room to grow

Not really. You need to increase surface area to increase the amount of heat dissipated. Increasing thickness does very little to increase the surface area, while nesting two channels together nearly doubles the surface area.

With heatsinking EB's or any strip at low current like we use, adding more surface area is completely unnecessary. Start with a 1/8th" or 3/16th" and you're done. Going through the effort of gluing 2 pieces of channel together seems like alot of work for little reward. There's no need to even use channel other than it's more rigid and easier to make a frame out of. 1/8th" flatbar works just fine for strips @1050ma and under.

Ive got a spare MW-185/1400, should be getting the 6x 560mm 3000k EBs today from Arrow, this new "test" panel will be in use very shortly....
Time to see what layout for heat removal the 1400ma max will require!!!
