Probably hungry, could be a soil issue, the soil does not look like it has good drainage. Most quality soils have perlite, the white rocks in the soil pictured. This is what a good soil usually look like.

New growth is perfect which tells me that the plants look hungry! But before you feed them more, whats the PH of the nutrients when you mix it up? If it's higher than 6.5 that's not helping. Also, adding more feed brings the PH down, 6 region i found was pretty good for me in coco. 5.8-6.2 depending on plant :)

If all is in check try a half feed of nutes, you were right to start at 1/4 strength. I take it they started yellowing, browning about a week ago?

Yellowing nitrogen, brown cracking ect P+K..

Depending on your water, Cal/Mag will be needed down the line.

Thanks for that apparently canna feed is perfect for water across the west midlands.

Ill try with half a serving.

I have other plants (which i started before the ones you see in this post) that are twice the size as the ones you see here. They wer under a 250 watt hps to start with. Ive been giving these plants the same 1/4 feed from the start of there cycle too and they look fine

You'll soon learn each plant is unique.

With strains only offering similarities. This Kali mist I'm growing varies a lot. One likes it heavy feed. The other is happy with low feed.

Do you have a ph meter?

Pull the T5's up a bit, open the tent door and open a window in the room, when you get a fan circulate the air dont blow it full on them. Shade the thermometer and read the tents ambient temperature, should be around 20c for the UK set up like i said in your tent during the day and a little less at night..... Sweet :-)

yes the windows open. the thermometer has a probe, i have it positioned right right next to the top of the plants. Why am i putting it in the shade for?

ive been told for veg the temperature should be between 25 and 30c, in flower between 20 and 25c.

have i missed something set what up for the day and a little less at night?

the fan will be here next week.

thanks for the reply

If temp probs is in the light it reads high.

Your ambient shade temp is how you measure temperature.

For instance, 24c today. Stick that thermometer in the sunshine and it'll read 35+

So plants can withstand higher direct light heat but MJ doesn't like anything over 30c ambient temp.

I am for 25-26 veg and flower. Only adjusting RH levels.

Hi ive just brought a ph meter it is reading at 7 (thats with half nute feed). Should i run out in the morning and get some ph down (i have ordered some but wont be here until wednesday).

How do i know if i need calmag and when will be the best time to use it?.

Thank you.

Aye 7 is a tad too high for coco, it would've been higher with 1/4 nutes! Aim for around the 6 mark. Coco does have a buffer of around 6. So the stress is caused because of the drastic change of PH within the rootzone.

Be careful with that ph down. It's crazy strong I found. I put a drop into like 50ml of water then add that water to my nute mix but by bit until the desired PH. I use to feed at 6.

If some is coming Wednesday I think it'll be fine. Just keep an eye on them. If you need to water before then I did use lime juice to drop the PH. Just one drop dropped it a lot so again, try diluting. Also, try get organic if possible.

Regarding calmag it really depends on your water. You can check your water I believe online. See the mineral contents.

But in general I precharge the coco with calmag before I grow. Then add during.

So for you I'd suggest using it sparingly late veg/early flower depending on your waters content. Then up it 2-3 weeks into flowering. But it does all depend on your water. For me I had 35ppm water and no calcium or magnesium in the water. So I have to supplement every watering with cal/mag.

drainage is NOT good in pure coco, you not only have to add perlite to it, you need to add at least 25%. to get good drainage.
i've run in coco for quite a while now, and i can tell you that you want your ph to center around 6.1. you can swing a little either way as long as you come back to 6.1, lower and you get mag issues, which can cause problems with uptake of other nutes as well.
it looks like overwatering is causing most of your problems, get some perlite into that coco and watch those problems go away

To be fair i think you might be right. Because like i said i have a set under t5s and they are the only ones that have the issues. The other set are under hps the coco drys out alot quicker due to the heat of the hps and these ones have no issues what so ever.

Thanks for that.

With the ph down do you wait so long before feeding after you have added it to your nutes?

Also im guessing you wait 24 hours after adding your nutes before u add ph down?

Thank you
