Amazing showcase of skills once again!

What method do you use to check if they`re finished? Do You take a sample bud off & try it? microscope? or some method I don't even know about lol.

First I look at the pistil color and then at the trich color and to see if they've started to degrade. I like mine cloudy with some clear. Not real big on amber.
And, i also take sample buds at different stages of growth.

I wonder what the story is behind using the Pre 98 Bubba instead of the Katsu Bubba in this cross.
I believe that is a mistake on his website that has never been corrected. When Doc first put the BOG out he used the pre98. Later in an internet post he mentioned that they stopped using the pre98 and went back to the Katsu for the BOG.

However, this is just my memory of what he posted and my memory can be faulty. I really need to ask him and let him clear it up.

Harvest Day -
Plant 2- Day 59

This one seems to be have the most Bubba influence and it finished a few days or a week before the others.

Absolutely beautiful plant!
Those are stunning. That dark plant is way way dark. And super uber frosty. I bet that will be some good fire with a good dry and cure. Nice job man. If mine turn out half that frosty I'll be happy. Congrats man. Smoke one for us.

Soil/Hydro:
Promix Potting Soil-(Drain to Waste)

Flower Time: 56-70 days (pheno dependent)

Grow Comments-
A plant of few problems. Bubba OG is a breeze to grow and did not require any special attention other then needing a little extra magnesium at the beginning of flower. After a few Epsom salt treatments they were on a collision course for dankness.

Smell-
Earthy, Coffee.

Associated smells of bud:
Spicy lavender

TASTE-
Gun Powder

Associated flavors:
Coffee Kush-Sage

Flavor Intensity-(Sour Diesel or Bubba Kush would be a 9 or 10.)
9

Harsh/smoothness: (1-10, 1 being extremely harsh and 10 being extremely smooth) --
8

Flavor Comments-
The first time I grew this strain, I got a pheno that had a strong sour/gunpowder mix to the flavor and it became my favorite of all time. This time the phenos were all gun powder with none of the sour flavor. The GP flavor was extra strong this time so I have no complaints at all since I loves me the taste of some GP.

BUZZ Profile—
Narcotic high. Nice body buzz that helps relieve pain and inflammation. It's also a bit social and gives the impression of having a higher THC content then it actually does. A very nice pain killing strain for public use because although it is strong, it is not over powering. I heard through my patient "grape vine" that this strain was useful for PTSD sufferers, and I can see why. It is relaxing but it keeps you alert without feeling anxious.

Potency: (1-10, 1 being extremely weak and 10 being extremely potent)
8

Final Comment-
I loved this strain so much the first time around, (with its mix of gunpowder and sour kush flavors) that it was a hard task for this grow to equal. I didn't get the flavor pheno I wanted but all in all it still kicks ass. As soon as I have room to try again, I will be popping more of these in search of the flavor mix I love so well.
