i used this product right after flower pistils developed, it made one of my plants stretch way too much, (heard it causes stretching when used too early)

its says on the label to use during early stages of flower,

does this "bud blood" work? first time using it, will it create big nugs?

There are really a variety of factors that are going to go into making big nugs, so while your product under perfect conditions might cause plants to explode massive nugs, but if you dont have all the basic stuff down, your gonna have a bad time, and will constantly be looking for some cureall to dump in the water to make fat buds, i remember being there myself. Maybe some more details on your nutrient regimen. lights, environment, pot size, grow medium the basic stuff, also pics help if you are unsure if its looking good or not.

i am using fox farm soil, a using those basic 2-4 gallon dirt pots , under 400 watts of hps, and the strains that i am growing are auto's from auto seeds company

feed them miracle grow nitrogen during vegging , also am feeding them SNOW STORM nute,IMG_0897.jpg

You only use bud blood for two weeks I think. Use it as soon as you flip to 12/12 then use it for a couple weeks more, then switch to big bud after that.

I wonder why advanced always has to give their nutes catchy names? And making you switch from this to that to the other every other week?

instead of just putting out a product that works reliably and simply. Stupid names like budblood give the entire mmj industry a bad rep imo.

kinda like the linament cure alls sold in the 1800's

If you choose to believe it or not, all hydroponic nutrient manufacturers are fucking you, bud blood has only 3 ingredients (potassium phosphate, potassium carbonate, & potassium sulfate), easy enough to make yourself, GH Koolbloom is monopotassium phosphate(as is most every "bloom booster"), Dynagro Protekt is potassium silicate(as is most every silicate "supplement"), cal/mag by any company is a joke(calcium nitrate, magnesium sulfate, & iron or a variation of it), they are available because we think we need them, not one company "makes" you use a product, we choose to. Unless you are mixing your own you are being fucked, AN, GH, Dynagro, Canna, Ionic, H&G, BPN, HCO, etc all do the same thing, AN just has a larger variety of things to fuck you with, that doesnt make em worse than the next guy. I have yet to run a store bought base nute that doesnt work great.

Bud Blood is a high PK booster to be used only the first week of bloom. The recommended dosage is 2 grams per gallon.
Id recommend you only use maybe .8 grams per gallon used only the first week.
What this product does is SET BUD HARD AND FAST. It does not mean it makes the buds bigger..although from the stacking it will do that.
It will speed up your finish time also. By a week to ten days normally depending on strain.
Bud blood almost instantly skips the transition phase of bloom.
The reason they use catchy logos on the front of their bottles and catchy names is the same reason you would if you owned a nute company. You want people to be able to recognize your product by name and sight.
The haters are going to come out of the wood work just because you put AN in the title.
Let me tell you something about AN that those who have never used it will not tell you.It is the best product on the market second to none.
AN is a protein based nute system unlike ALL the others,You will not get salt build up that effects production and taste in your growing media or root zone.
It is the only nute system designed to grow Marijuana specific.
Thats all AN does..grows marijuana..day in and day out..testing and growing marijuana.
If you want to grow really really good dope. SO LONG AS YOUR GROW CONDITIONS ARE SET RIGHT..use AN.Their whole line up.
If you use AN do not use bud blood with the PH perfect line up.It is designed to use bud ignite with it.It will fuck up your plants if you use bud blood with the ph perfect system.
AN has several proprietary products that no one else can make. Some on here might tell you..well you can do as good with this..or that..
Until they show me..and i havnt seen it yet that they can do as well with other systems ill stick with my own.
Perhaps one of the best growers on here that i can think of.subcool and his group of growers..some of the best..
well..they use AN..If you are using snow storm ultra or crystal burst id recommend you not start using it until after the first week when you have finished using the bud blood.
I do not but AN..it pays for itself in increased production and quality.
So when you hear the next post under me..remember what i just said..I DO NOT BUY AN,AN BUYS ITSELF FOR ME.

There is a mountain of information between using bottled plant foods and correctly mixing you're own using raw salts. You can't just casually say 'unless you're mixing your own, you're getting hosed' because there are in fact some excellent values out there which for a buck or two will piss all over that multi-part hydro store garbage

Now if you want to make an argument that mixing you're own gives you vastly superior results to anything on the market, lets see those pics ;).

You're getting hosed if you're buying cal-mag+.

I understand your argument that it's way easier to pick up something like dyna-grow and obtain great results, but so few people do that. Most people use at least one other "additive" to go with their "base nutes". These additives generally contain 1 or 2 ingredients. How is it easier to use a product like Kool Bloom vs KH2PO4? How is it easier to use cal-mag plus than calcium nitrate and epsom salts?

Lately I've been seeing the product "MOAB" being talked about a lot. If you look at the ingredients and nutrient analysis, MOAB is KH2PO4. It's not just derived from it, it is literally the same thing. Is it really easier to relabel common chemicals with a bunch of brand names?

A lot of growers have so many bottles, they may as well be individual salts.

Great plants btw. I hope you don't think I'm trying to say mixing with dry salts provides better results than a 3 part mix like GH flora. No nutrient mix is going to make you a good grower.

Despite the learning curve, if people bought calcium nitrate and KH2PO4 instead of cal-mag+ and kool-bloom, they'd already have 2 of the 4 macro salts needed to make their own complete mix. Magnesium sulfate makes that 3 of 4, potassium nitrate makes that 4 of 4.

You'd eventually have everything, and there'd be no threads asking ridiculous questions about whether you can mix and match hydro brands.

the only additive I use is protekt.

and mixing salts is not for me.

If I can mix a thousand gallons of nute soups for less than 100 buks....I don't see the point.

Why use protekt though? Why not just use solid potassium silicate? Protekt is derived from potassium silicate.

How is it any harder? I feel like using the brand name is harder because it's less straight forward. Do you want silicates or protekt TM?

You're already mixing salts. You're mixing the diluted protekt with the dynagrow (or whatever you use). How is that not mixing salts?

for no other reason than it works for me...and works well imo.

i am not interested in mixing my own nutes. I really like to keep it simple.
and at 40 buks a gallon which lasts me like three to four months.....there aren't many savings to be had.

I think you're missing my point. When you decide to add protekt, you ARE mixing your own nutes. You already know how to do it.

For the record, 12 bucks will get you a pound of potassium silicate, which is a lot.

and then I would have to figure out what levels i want to run yada yada.

I like what works for me church. that is all.

perhaps one day I will mess with mixing dry salts. Today is not that day though.

ok church just for s&giggles how many grams of dried P S would need to be mixed into one gallon of purified water to = the same ratio as protekt?
