bud blood

Hi, can anyone tell me the pros and cons for bud blood? I've researched it a little, but looking for first hand experiences. When should I use it? When should I stop? Or should I at all???

thanks

Uses the Rollitup profile
It's a PK booster with vitamins and hormones that help the plant to switch to flowering faster. It's used with chemical ferts during the first 7 days of 12/12.

I'd say that this is the best thing that I got out of using the AN regimen. I've been using the Bud Blood with other chemical nutes ever since. I think it does work well, and reduces the amount of growth spurt prior to flowering.

the only way to really know is use it on one or two plants only the first time and compare to the rest

that's what I plan to do, give a few girls this the rest without. Doing the same with sweet. Trying it on a few only. Growing in soil not hydro.

thanks!

Can someone tell me if I need to use the full strength as stated on the package or 1/2 or 1/4 as most say to use from directions? I understand you only use it the first week of flower so I want to get it right.

Bud blood in the first week of flowering, not good idea. One of the primary ingredients is a hormone that causes stretching. I believe the proper time to use bud blood is roughly 2/3 thru flowering when your girls have stopped stretching and have filled in, to cause some elongation for more bud room. Good product works in hydro or soil, just be sure not to reuse your dirt/soilless mix, clean hydro equip. really well between crops to remove any residue.

Well your news is a new one. All other comments and from the AN company mention only week 1 of flowering. Any others?

Weeks 1 and I have seen one person suggest Weeks 1 and 2.

Things like Superthrive and Hydrozyme have the type of cytokins and auxins that promote stem elongation, plant growth, and root growth... They are wonderful for Veg, but not such a great idea for Bloom.

Not sure where he is getting his info, but it's far from correct. If I were to only use 1 Product from AN it would be Bud Blood, and I normally use it because I have my plants overgrow and need to inhibit growth and promote the flowering stage. I'm not entirely sure if it's actually got the plant hormone that inhibits growth like Bushmaster, or if it only induces the Flower hormone which in turn triggers less growth during the normal stages of flowering.

In any event DO NOT USE IT AFTER WEEK 2 as Advanced Nutrients specifically states:

Advanced Nutrients "growing tips" for Bud Blood specifically state "DO NOT USE past first two weeks of flowering."

i would be carefull with that stuff , i have heard some people having irreversiable damage using bud blood but i think its only for kush strains

Fins out how your strain reacts to it maybe its on the web, or if you want to kick start your girlsa into bloom give them 24 hours of darkness before bloom :)

Yeah, I am deciding I am not gonna use it for this run. I have read some pros and cons on it and have used it in the past, but am not 100% sure (from experience) it hasn't effected my previous grows. It's hard to so, I had a co-op with an idiot that ran SuperThrive during FLOWER and wondered why Flowering took an extra week or two. He suggested it was because of the Bud Blood (fast start, slow ending?), but now I know the hormones in SuperThrive were obviously a concern.

I will save the worry and just go with the standard Bloom nutes and 12/12.

LOL , hey u live and u learn.

u know ive been going at it for now like 3 years without using bud blood... actually i dont use any of the additives, ive come to think that alot of AN additives are just a marketing scheme as tghere the most expenive.. i mean im sure the help someway or form but very minimally.

I have found getting to know your strain and your room is much more important then some fancy additives, all i use is micro , grow, bloom, with some b to keep there vigur and health.... And i have had better results now then back then when i was using the whole line of AN. But who knows maybe thats just me :)

I have a good level of communication with a Professor of Plant Biology and Genetics which has done studies on Cannabis. Although this is no longer his priority, plants in general have the same base needs.

I have done some research on Plant Tissue Cultures and it proves how hormones can make a different in plant growth. With that being said, alot of people forget Advanced Nutrients is based in Canada and.... it's seems they get away with putting certain hormones in their products that U.S. based nutrients lines are unable to.

I agree some of there base stuff is just as "good" as a cheaper product, but the Bud Blood, Big Bud, and Overdrive all have a special set of auxins, cytokins, and other plant hormones that plants benefit from.

Ohh, and their JumpStart rocks. I was cloning with Straight water, after using JumpStart I can tell you, it works. The days were reduced by 3-5 and my success rate/percentage went up 30%. (I am getting closer to 90% now, as apposed to just over 50%. There is obviously rooting hormone in it. This of course is coming from a cutting that was only originally dipped with rooting hormone, then given water as a foliar, with no nutes.

I also saw a Case Study which tested the levels of N - P - K in cannabis throughout it's flowering stage and the amount of P is not as high as people think. The "Bud Blasters" out there with a huge 0 - 50 - x rate is not good. It seems that Advanced Nutrients and House and Garden are the only two nutrients lines (that I am aware of) that makes sense of this and provides a low P rate, and higher K rates... It also proved that plants need Nitrogen during Veg.

I have actually burned the shit out of plants with Supernatures Bud Blaster (1-52-31) and even Humboldt Nutrients Big Up (0-33-2).

I will be honest, I have not attempted to prove or disprove this logic, but it makes sense. I used 50% of the recommended values on both occasions, and both fried my crops. I don't forget it could have been combined logics, but seeing the Lab Results of N - P - K of plants during the flowering stage made a believer out of me.

I am actually running a Case Study on VHO and Colossal Bud Blast from Advanced Nutrients. I am doing both, then both with Dutch Master Penetrator.

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/231124-case-study-vho-colossal-bud.html

I have some plants in Flowering right now, but haven't decided if I wanna do a case study on them. I just flipped 12/12... I am gonna use Big Bud and Overdrive, but was thinking about taking a couple plants and doing Shooting Powder instead of Overdrive. Haven't decided yet.

Bud Blood can be used in Soil or Hydroponics. It is best used in the first week of flowering in order to help induce flowering. This should not be used later in the flowering cycle to try and help bulk up existing buds. It should also be used for ONLY 1 WATERING. This is meant to be a supplement to help induce flowering giving your plants more time to build bigger buds. When using, be sure to reduce your normal nutrients to half strength, otherwise you will be giving your plants a HUGE overdose.

Some people swear by it. Others have tried it and noticed absolutely no difference in harvest time or yield.

My personal recommendation is to use this the first week of flowering, then weeks 3-5 use a product such as Big Bud to get a better yield.
