Wow you're a really angry guy. Why are you so angry? Obviously your reading comprehension isn't very good either. I never said and never implied that you would never have to research again. What I said, again practice reading comprehension so people won't have to constantly explain things to you, is that if you are wanting to learn how to do a cheap cfl grow, want all the info. in one place, want accurate, simple and concise info, then this is a great book to get and use. It will be great to have a book that you can pick up and refer to over and over in order to help you understand the basic concepts of growing. If you want to learn easily it will help you, not guarantee you, get great results quickly; for a person who is looking for that, this book is a big help. That's easy to understand isn't it?

Also I never said reading any book makes you an experienced grower nor did I say that reading it would GUARANTEE you great yields. Although I have to admit that if you do what he says it is pretty much fool proof and you will get great results. Following along with the book, which shows photos of the day by day progression, will make things much easier for the new grower and help him or her get great yields. You don't understand the concept of doing a book for one aspect of growing, cfl growing on a limited budget. The author, who is a VERY experienced grower with a great deal of expertise, obviously thought there was an audience for the book. There are many growers who have limited space and budget, need to be stealthy, want the lower heat of cfl's so they don't have to buy expensive exhaust systems and they need to grow at a low cost; therefore he wrote a book to address those growers. He gives them all the info. they need for that type of growing and I think he did a great job.

In conclusion and summation allow me to repeat myself once again, to ensure that you get it, the author is directing his book AT A SPECIFIC AUDIENCE. You aren't in that audience but there are many people who fit all the criteria for the type of grower he was addressing. Again that audience is the would be new grower who is on a very limited budget, needs to be stealthy, needs low heat so they don't have to use big and expensive exhaust systems and for all of those reasons cfl's would be a perfect fit. He gives them day by day updates with photos which is a great help to the beginner so they can see how it all is supposed to look. All that info. is in one place and in the growers hands so they can refer to it as much as they want. So for that type of grower this book is very helpful.

You aren't that grower and you want a book that covers many aspects and many types of growing and you are also willing and enjoy spending hour after hour and day after day researching . To a beginner that type of book can be confusing and too much info. and they also don't want to spend or don't have the luxury of spending, that kind of time to weed through all the good and bad info. on the net; especially when all they really want is a quick way to learn a cheap, easy, successful and stealthy way of growing. This book helps them achieve that easily. I, for one, don't think that is a load of shit.

What you're saying, is that by buying this book we'll never have to research growing cannabis again? From a leaflet-sized 'book'? .. What a load of shit :)

It's in any decent growers nature to explore, experiment, and learn for themselves how to do things: That's how you get to actually know what you're talking about, all that.

So even if this (or any other book) contained every single trinket of information about growing indoors, it's still can't guarantee you'll harvest a decent yield - indeed, reading a book doesn't make you an experienced grower, and all the info within - well most books these days - can be found right here online, with full colour photos, for nothing, nadda, zip, ZILCH :)

To be a half way useful reference even, it would need to teach you ALL the basics of hydroponic/organic techniques, cloning, breeding, limiting factors, water/nutrients, as well as at least a good chunk of introductory information on some of the equipment used indoors these days to produce a crop.

I just don't see much point in a book that simply outlines ONE method of growing, when I know there's almost no limit to the rainbow of different grow setups.

Such a small amount of information isn't even worth buying. :"CFL Growing" Should be just ONE CHAPTER, in ONE SECTION of a real book, not a 'leaflet' of it's own.

I throw leaflets in the trash, I don't pay for em. :)

Yeah yeah, calm down, the book's great, awesome, woo.

I know newbies like books with colour pics, that's fine. I was in a bad mood yesterday when I stumbled upon that post, hence my critique of the subject matter :)

Bad moods happen :)

I have this book. In fact this is the one that inspired me to think that maybe it wasn't as hard to do this as I thought. I have a few other books for growing like the Grower's Bible. So in-depth and so confuing I never even tried. I'm on my second successful appearing grow using your book. Makes it easy as pie, because I don't have much spare time or money. Thanks a million.

BTW I have been finding 150 watt 6500 daylight CFL's at Home Depot, that's what I use afer the seedings get some stoutness to them. I use 100 watt 2700 to get the seedling going.

Not trying to be an asshole, but I totally got your book off of pirate bay. I didnt know the book was even being sold to be honest. BUT if your book is good enough to be on the pirate bay, thats saying something. VERY informative, and I love the whole daily pictures thing. Either way good job on the book, possibly the best guide book I have ever seen

Sames. But props sot you for writing it and the RIU shoutout

I've seen a lot of comments, but very little written about the larger CFL with reflectors. Has anyone used the CFL in the 150w to 250w real rating, not equivalent?
Like the Feliz:

Would like some input on these. Looking at a 4 plant 7X7 room. I was told as long as the temp and humidity are controlled and there is air flow, go ahead and use them. I do not want to use HID because of the heat, less of the spectrum used vs the lumens and heat, and the signature they give off.
Any ideas? Still in the planning stages.

Proably been said before, but has anyone been able to make 8 oz from 50$?
I just cant see it, pots, soil, fertilizers, lights, power... would come to more than 50$
2 CFL's cost me 30$

Those 250w cfl's look nice, would defently give them a shot :D Would defently be nice to compare it to a 250w HPS or HID

this book is great for any novice grower trying to start indoors. very well written. I LOVE the step by step explanations of different stages of growth and how to care for them. I had been planning and studying for my first indoor grow and WOW this just clicked it all together. I first heard of Garden Knowm watching The Prohibition on youtube by BrwnDirtWarrior. You are a great grower GK and I'm sure I speak for all the noobs when I say Thank You! Also Loved the CFL Proximity Thread.

OK I didn't buy the book..can someone tell me if they yield 8 ounces in one grow? If so, how many CFLs did they use?
Well not 8, but I think its just my pot size. I get 4-6 oz (bomb only) per plant from the 5 gallon pots I've been using. I just moved to 20 gallon storage buckets from home depot so I'm expecting over 8 oz per plant from this yield. Going into flower in a couple of days so we'll see in a few months. I'm using augmented 1400 watt and 2000 watt units from CFL-GrowLight.com. I think the key, along with a lot of light is pot size or/and root ball size. Your plants should grow another third in size once you put them in flower, but a lot of growers don't get that growth because the plants are root bound before they ever hit flower. The bigger and healthier your root ball, the bigger and healthier your buds will be!

Buying the book is not about whether you have half a brain or not. It's about showing respect, giving credit for and paying a guy for giving the beginning grower a book, where all the info. about how to grow is in one place and the owner of the book can refer to it over and over again. What if you, as an example, built a bench to put in your yard, some guy saw it and said to himself, " Why in the hell should I do research on how to build a bench, buy all the materials and do all the work to build it when I could just take this guys bench for free?" How would you feel when he took it? Think about it. It's not all about money my friend.

Thank you GK for this thread! Somewhere in my reading I believe you posted that the CFL's should be no more than 1 inch away. I've llways kept them 4 to 6 inches away. Good to know your information. I've moved them to an inch away.
