Buds quality LEDs VS HPS

I mean its pretty easy. Just twist them in and twist them out. No biggie really. The Green power ones however no twisting, not sure if you know this. Just click click, pretty awesome!!!
You get bulbs free then I assume, and you found some ground breaking recycling discovery that allows your universal waste to be converted into fully reusable goods?

No no no. Pay big time bucks for bulb replacement. So where i live the local recycle facility takes the grow bulbs.

You guys do know that HID will probably go the way of incandescent bulbs and be banned at some point because it's a inefficient obsolete tech.
HID bulbs are also toxic and bad for the environment when not recycled properly.
I think prices of LED lighting will drop significantly while efficiency improves. It's like buying a computer back in the 90s. You know a better & cheaper version will come out within a year.

LOL, both grow great buds with the proper amount of lighting and good conditions.
It doesn't always have to be Death match.
Now lets all form a circle and hold hands! :joint: Puff puff pass

I haven't had to screw in a replacement LED yet (knock on wood)
How is replacing lamps every year treating you?
I've sent LED buds to the people who shared these cuts with me years ago and I have records of their reactions and impressions and not a one had a negative thing to say about the LED grown as they didn't even know it was LED buds...

I challenge any HID maximalist to an HID/LED smokeout and we can record the whole thing for youtube.
I have a better idea. Lets have a show down with pictures. You start. Show us archaic growers some LED buds at harvest. Close ups. No bullshit distance shots.
Each person having a voice here should show one quality shot of crystal, just one.
I'm sure I can find a few obsolete, out of date, old-fashioned, outmoded, behind the times, bygone, anachronistic, antiquated, superannuated, antediluvian, old world, old-fangled growers who can show a few recent shots with HPS if I need too.

heavily regulated under both fed and state laws

20 years ago you could buy a crusher the size of a steel drum that would eat 1000s of bulbs onsite

not anymore
and where are said crushers today?

I have a better idea.
...pictures and text on internet gets us where we are today, which is why i would offer a session with you if you want first hand knowledge and fruitful discussion? or we can pee all over the internet more

I see. I mixed up the terms. How much does 3.5' x 3.5' area change that number and how are you accounting for lamp height.

The 600 has the same intensity as 1000 at about 16" over the canopy. Just less area covered.

I think you are over minimizing the hps usable light.
A 600w HPS will be 1100 PPFD in a square meter. a 400w LED at 55% efficiency will do the same thing.

400 * .55 = 220 * 5umol/j = 1100 PPF (1100 PPFD in a square meter). 5 micromoles is the flux per watt of a typical 3000K 90CRI spectrum from phosphor coated LED.
