Have no idea what this is. I see them here and there but not tons. It looks like a lottle grasshopper. Flys and seems to hop. Usually on plant but on the hydroton too. Is it no harm or dangerous and how do i get rid of it? Im in Royal Gold Tupar coco with 1-2" hudroton on top. Thank you.

that appears to be a leafhopper.youre inside? you need to find how theyre getting in.i get a lot of those outdoors.there is spray to kill them(i dont recommend,i dont tjink you have an infestation do you?) but there is really nothing to spray that would deter them.kill em by hand and maybe a yellow sticky trap or two
and yes, they suck the juices out of your leaves.that one in the bottom pic is tiny
maybe theyre hatching in your room? how many have you found?they usually start off translucent in color where i am

Outdoors they will be everywhere with lawns.
I don't find them a problem. Even the odd grasshopper that comes along I will just shoo away from the plants.

they can spread disease from plant to plant.you must have some cooperative grasshoppers by you lol,one grasshopper my way can do some damage to a plant in one day

I have a cat that likes hanging out where the plants are and is still young enough to catch and eat everything that moves. Also growing outdoors out of season helps, there are only a few maybe inch long ones I see now and again this time of year.

Having lovely rain today. It really cooks the composting grass clippings I used for mulch and makes a nice low pH tea as it falls. The Rainy season will pretty much be over by the time they flower.
Sadly, as we are in a drought and the dams are empty. Daily recommended water use is only 87liters per person in your household.

Im just not sure how i got them. Plant has not been oitside nor do i have any pets. Moving them to another room might not even matter due to the fact that they came out of nowhere. I live upstairs and screens on all my windows so not sure how they were exposed. Plants are only 15 and 11 days from breaking dirt. Theyre not tons, just a few here or there when i check them.

Hopping is not their only mode of transportation.
