quick question...

what does one do about those little flying insects that seem to come out from the soil... I heard using sand on the top layer of my medium would possibly kill them by suffocating them under the soil.. and any eggs that they may have left as well.

Would sand work? What has everyone else tried.. or done to help rid of these little fly like insects?

thanks in advance to anyone that helps me with any tips/advice. Thanks.

peace.

A sterile layer of sand will work. OR fresh chopped garlic on top of the soil.

Also let the soil dry between watering.

goodluck

If they're Fungus Gnats I've had great success with a soapy water mix. A few squirts of some Dawn hand soap and some water in a spray bottle and then a light mist on the plants after watering worked wonders. Good luck!
