Build your own worm farm

Soils naturally rich in worms are soils that are great for growing plants, including cannabis. Teas made from castings are excellent organic liquid fertilizers and can be used frequently with little risk of over fertilization. If you would like to start your own worm farm in order to create a rich grow soil and nutrient rich liquid fertilizer, you should read the following short informational on how to create and maintain a worm farm: http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/archives/parsons/publications/worm/worm.html.

Good growing!

I am thinking about making one. I dont half fancy doing it with large Air Pots. >>> http://www.superoots.com/air_intro.htm# <<<

For the Base.... a Standard Hydro Bucket, with drain valve. Collect the tea / juice in the bucket, and can be drained off and used every so often. Maybe I will even have an airstone in there to keep the juice/tea aerated.

For the Top, an airpot whichever size fits over, or maybe have a bucket lid full of holes that it sits on. And maybe have a second airpot, so the airpots stack. I would have a smaller airpot, to put the worms and bedding in. That would go inside the large airpot, then I would start filling it up with compost at first, then indroduce raw uncomposted material later.

That sounds similar to what I was considering Dino. But I think I have settled on just a single long grow box. I'll have it elevated off the ground with buckets below it to catch the tea.

Another strategy I considered was with stacking buckets. The bottom one captures, and has a valve so you can tap that ShiesBen as needed. The buckets on top, just have 1/4" or so holes drilled in the bottom. For drainage, and for the worms to crawl through as the move up to the next bucket. You could also swiss cheese the sides with holes for air... but obviously the big Air-Pot is ready made with swiss cheesy hole action. .
