Im using a 150w cfl light on one plant at the moment. Its about 1/2 inch away from the bulb. I just checked on my plant and it seems theres yellow burn looking marks on the top leaf. Im not sure if its burnt or has a nutrient defficiency. I thought cfl lights wouldnt burn ur plant. I moved the bulb now to about an Inch and a Half away. Dont know how to post pics. Any help?

mg does not contain calcium nor magnesium and some other micro nutrients.add som lime which contains calcium and magnesium.firs check your soil ph,could be a nutrient lock up.adding more nutrients could add more problems.if the plant is not accepting a certain nutrient.and your adding more nutrients will cause a build up of too much nutient plus a salt build up.yellowing of leaf can b a number of things.fungu, pest,ph,nutrient, humidity, over watering, unda fertilized and numbers of other things.if the rust spots are surronded by yellow(calcium).miracle grow is trash.foilage feed plants for a faster response.remember chemicals on leafs burn, foilage feed when you just turn the lights on,and then mist spray with water.keep an eye out for pest.good luck

Keep the light about an inch away from the plant. CFL's create LESS heat than other lighting types, but they most definitely are able to burn them if too close. Working with CFL's, you need to adjust the lights at least once daily.

yeah that could be from ur cfl , 3 26 watt 6500K per plant & i had a lil burn prob also ,, 1/4inch away ... , i set the lights about 1/2 a foot above the plants ( homemade cardboard light box lined with tin baking sheets on the top & white printer paper on the sides) , then i stack CD cases under my pots & use that for my height control ,, thats way easier than adjusting ur lights all the time ,,
