Bushmaster: A How to Guide

They suggest that you use 3 weeks before harvest and run from 5-12 days. I used it from week 6-7 of flower. Then I just drained out the stuff and replaced with fresh nutes. I harvest at week 9. I give myself a week of fresh r/o water flush.

Papa Bear and I have been experimenting with this product. He was concerned about irregular height becoming an issue as well as branchy stretching. So far we have applied it twice:
Once at the end of veg. and once about a week into flowering. I'm seeing a few girls ready to harvest but they are super short and the buds are small, although a little more dense.
This concerns me. Dropping a little height and losing 50% of harvest weight is unacceptable to me. I would think there may be better ways to keep height uniform. Has anyone had any experience relating to
this directly? Anyone noticing a diminished harvest due to small overall size?

thanks folks,
keep up the Good work

I think the active ingredient boils down to phosphoric acid.
Thanks for the tips and responses. I can tell you have done the homework AND the legwork :)

I just tried Bush Master my first time in my first sog and in my first hydro attempt. I am in week 3 now see I sign of N deficient is this normal after the use of the bm ? I used BM 3 days at 1ml per gallon top feed.

I know this is an old post but I'm curious, are you still using them, any tips?
I use purple maxx, gravity, and bushmaster and love em.

I just chopped down 2 out of 4 of my sativa's growing in a 4x5 box under a 400 watt hps and a 6 bulb 4 foot T5 in blue spectrum with additional CFL's.

I pulled 10 oz off one plant! and 1 off the runt- she was burried under the others. And I still have 2 more plants to go- one which will probably yield 6-7 ounces! And compared to my last run with this landrace sativa, Hawaiian snow, it is much denser- much crystalier, and the plants stayed managable. Except for the 10oz monster bitch. She was hard to tame. Damn crazy landrace's.

I finally hit the G a watt measure. Actually I'll beat it when my other 2 come down :)

My plants were growing way too tall. Stretching too high and the gaps between nodes wer ridiculous. When they get too tall, the light wont reach down even halfway down the stem so the bottom half of the plant is crap.

recently tried BM in my DWC set up at about 2 weeks into flower -once they hit the height i wanted. Ran it for 5 days and it stopped the vert growth in its tracks. I mean right away. Got a major ram horn effect, but no dead leaves. they went right into producing flowers too. i drained the res and refilled with fresh water and nutes.

also, i am running two systems and i did not have enough for the 2nd (i got a tiny trial bottle), so i can see a major difference with the flower formation on the system i used BM. it looks like it is 2 weeks further into flower, despite starting on the same day as the other. i didnt expect that, but it is very noticeable

its only been a week or so since i used it, so i am anxious to see if the yield is different, if it finishes faster, or any other differences. i have grown this strain several times and would notice the difference, and i basically have a control group running concurrently, so i will report back at the end.

thus far i can tell you with 100% certainty that it does stop the vert growth and it does kick start the flower production. without any doubt at all

At what point did you start using gravity? I keep hearing different things... use at the 3rd week of flower... use again at the 6th week, use with half strength nutrients, use it by its self... Can you advise how you used it successfully?

Really old but use it week 6 and 7 on a 8 week strain. I was told and started using it 50% at week 5 an am having a little better results. I am in hydro and use it FULL strength 2 ML per gal with full nutrients 13-1400 PPMs. Adds a lot of weight with the massive increase in density. Buds become ROCK HARD.

I see this has been resurrected from the dead. I just happen to be getting a quart of Bonzi and while researching PGRs found this, which corroborates my warnings to you guys who fall for anything someone claims to "work". http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/floriculture/Rx/PGR Overdose Guide.pdf

Only sound, basic culture "works" and will produce "rock hard" buds, witness my avatar which was grown with some cheap organics and a box of plant food bought at Walmart.

As usual UB you just chime in to argue in every thread pretty much. Shit works, get over it. I guess Bushmaster doesnt work either or Snow Storm. I could tell you about the hundreds of side by side comparisons I have with these but I already know you will shoot it down so I wont bother. You constantly brag about your avatar lol. I have buds that big on plants 18 inches tall. I can grow buds that big without these additives but with them they are much harder, heavier, frostier but you go get em with your Walmart nutes big fella.......

Oh and your link doesnt work.

Edit, had to cut and paste but got it to work. What you seem to overlook is the fact that the article is referring to PGR MISAPPLICATION not application lol. Yeah if you put in 2X your normal fertilizer you might get the same effect too. Every thread referring to these products talks about how strong they are and to be careful .

You journaled marginal looking plants that were supposedly planted into 100 gallon pots (as if that will somehow bring you "greatness"), plants which you failed to pull off going to harvest, asked for advice while fishing for reader affirmation in the thread, acknowledged that you use Advanced Shysters kiddie stuff, worked and spent your ass off regarding maintenance and expense..... and wanna convince me you're on the right track?

Ok here is the setup.

The link was all about applications of PGR...... shit-fer-brains. Nice attempt at deflecting the point.

Wow some serious weak sauce UB, as usual *sigh*. Yeah the topic was about APPLICATION of PGRs not MISAPPLICATION which is exactly what the lame link you incorectly posted was talking about . Like that some how makes them bad lol. You used it to try and prove some kind of point. All you proved was that you are for a fact so short sighted you can only see/read what you want to. It CLEARLY stated MISAPPICATION and showed the results. If you misuse ANY nutes you can fuck your shit up..... for someone who thinks books are gods right hand man for growing MJ you dont seem to comprehend what you read very well.

Talk about weak attempt at deflection. Somehow talking about my outdoor grow and stating "marginal " pn top of it . LOL !!!! Yeah I guess if pulling 3-4 pounds of grade A bud from potted plants is marginal then you some how "win" ..... I cant even understand half of what you are blabbing about. Pulled over 20 lb of dried cut Grade A smoke and spent about 2K to do so. Please teach me more ganja master in your own mind. I am sure know it all stud like you could do a lot better but I was happy for my first time growing large plants outdoors. What are you smoking tonight, I'd like to have some. Wow, just plain wow. I'll update this post in a few minutes so everyone can see how incredibly lame your post is in reference to my "marginal" looking plants. Damn you are becoming quite the comedian around here.

Now please take a seat UB and tool on somewhere else, I think you have embarrassed yourself enough in this one.

So we're now into a chest beating drill. OK, the following is one main cola of 4 on a SATIVA dom hybrid, a nickel's worth of a 10 month 18-6-8 slow release fertilizer (Polyon brand) mixed into some dirt, 3 gallon pot. Using anything over a 5 gallon pot and a dime's worth of nutes suggests one's ineptness when it comes to knowing what makes a plant tick.

It all "works" mainly based on your belief system, popular thought, trends, wallet, etc.

I measure a person's savvy, intelligence, and experience by what they wish to believe and what they end up buying.

Having said that, here's an example of value, and something that is used in the commercial nursery trade to reduce plant height, it's bonafide with a posted guaranteed analysis and a label that must be followed or you're breaking the law and subjected to fines. Just delivered to me door for $109.00. It's enough product to treat thousands of plants numerous times. If anyone posted during the days of OG, you will remember Erliquin who used paclobutrazol religiously on his hydro grown plants. Erl's claims was not only did paclo decrease internode spacing but he claimed it increased flower production.

Bonzi.jpg

Now, many pages later, and I don't believe reading about the active ingredient in Bushmaster, nor does this herd seem to care.

What's ironical is these marketing gurus (Humboldt, Canna, Advanced Shysters, etc.) are out to screw you any which way they can as you sit there thinking they are truly on your side just because it's cannabis related. They've found an unsophisticated, young naive culture who holds a similiar belief system and are gonna tap this group for everything they can.

4 oz of watered snake oil for only $22 (plus shipping), hah! http://www.atlantishydroponics.com/Other-Non-Organic/Humboldt-Nutrients-Bushmaster-4-oz.asp

After doing a Google search (trying to find the guaranteed analysis which Humboldt chooses to hide) found this thread: http://www.gardenscure.com/420/plant-food-nutrients/107099-bushmaster-information-thread.html One poster said paclo, the assumed active ingredient, has been found to be carcinogenic (which I tend to dispute due to the hormonal action and the extremely low app dosage), another said it does contain paclo. One ad says it's just a very weak extract of sea kelp and an "earth friendly" product by one vendor who caters to the eco-wackos. :green:

No offense but that is one of the poorest looking buds I have ever seen. Super airy, terrible bud structure and quality looks like it matches. You tried to make some lame point by trying to pick apart my outdoor grow from last year, while the only point you made is that you are great at grasping for straws. I was simply proving my grow turned out great. You seem to be so focused on being frugal that your quality is suffering. Try picking a middle ground , that is what I have done and my results speak for themself. I find it very amusing that you always talk like you are gods gift to pot growing and then you post a picture to put someone in place that shows you have a LOT left to learn.

Oh and a serious LOL that "anything over a 5 gallon pot and dimes worth of nutes". I should post this in the outdoor section just so everyone could get a big laugh at your expense. Yeah I am sure lots of people get 3-4 lbs out of a 5 gal pot. I am seriously starting to feel sorry for you UB. Seems you might have some kind of defficiency of your own.

Well this is really funny UB. I have you in my sights now =) I know you are so much more intelligent then all of us sheep in here but I'll let you in on a little secret.

To make 1L all you need is 500ml 99% Iso alcohol, 500ml RO water and .9g Paclobutrazol. I got my Paclobutrazol here http://www.bio-world.com/MoreInfo.asp?ItemCode=714260

first add .9g of the paclo to the alcohol and shake the shit out of it (it wont disolve in water). Then add the 500ml of RO water and shake it again .
apply at at 3ml per gal of nutrient solution. Store it at room temp or the paclo will fall out of suspension of the alcohol.

So for under 20bux US you can make about 27L which is about enough to mix up 9000 Gal of nutrient solution...

According to you this makes me far more intelligent since I am spending so much less. Enjoy your $110 snake oil =)

I'd like to add that Bushmaster works exactly the same as the product you bought. I use both and same results, probably the same ingredient. Bushmaster is SUPER concentrated as well. 1 ML a gal is actually a strong dose. So a quart of this stuff 750 ML goes a long way. In my hydro I mix up a gallon of it and dip the plants I want it applied to.

Same shit is in Phosphoload at $120 a quart. No proof its in Bushmaster but most people think it is and I agree. They just dont want their secret ingredient to be known and did a good job of hiding it. Paclobutrazol is a carcinogenic too =(

No, confirms you as the spinmeister you are. Not you or anyone else has given me a bonafide link to what the active ingredient is in Bushmaster, and "super concentrated" doesn't mean squat to me. Nice try. Your nice little link did not divulge the amount of paclo in your miracle product either, and to think the firm you're buying from has more credibility than the well established giant Syngenta is laughable.

FYI, you must be a licensed Pesticide Applicator to even buy the stuff in the States. If not, you're breaking the law and the vendor is too for knowingly selling it to you without proof of that license.

.....probably the same ingredient. Bushmaster is SUPER concentrated as well.
Of course it is, well, probably, of course.

1 ML a gal is actually a strong dose.
Ya think? Be careful.....might get some of those yellowing and tiny chlorotic leaves. Most likely not as it is so watered down it will have little to no real world affect.
